Authentic Zen Buddhist Temple Stay In Fukui

If you’re seriously interested in practicing Zen at a traditional Zen training temple in Japan, and can follow our rules, then there’s an opportunity to stay at our temple in Fukui for two weeks (the minimum required length of stay). It’s free. Tokyo to Tsuruga, then a 1H train to Obama. Rules: I would highlight that during work periods (Samu) practitioners are supposed to keep meditating, so talking should be kept to an absolute minimum and be about work related issues. There’s plenty of time to talk outside of work periods, and by keeping your own practice we help everyone else keep theirs. Visitors are expected to stay inside the temple grounds, unless there’s a good reason. I can message you privately regarding other rules at the temple. Some guests from CS have ignored them, which is incredibly disrespectful. The first week of every month is Sesshin, which is an intensive week of practice, so it won’t be possible to arrive then.
