CS 🎭 Carnival in Maastricht Region 2026

Keeping an old CS tradition alive, we'll again be organizing a multi-day event to celebrate Carnival (Vastelaovend) in and around Maastricht! Dress code: on Saturday a costume is recommended, and from Sunday till Tuesday a colorful costume is strongly recommended! Provisional daily program: Friday 13 February (Civil Servants' Carnival Pub Crawl) Join from: 20:11: Café la Clé @ Kesselskade 60 21:33: Café Jour de Fête @ Markt 32 22:11 till late: proceeding to other bars, message us for location Saturday 14 February (Pre-carnival parade and festivities in Maastricht and surrounding villages) 12:44-13:11: Meet outside Maastricht CS train station. (Wave to carnival prince Lloyd I who is scheduled to arrive at 13:11) 13:16 Train to Eijsden, arrive 13:26, then a carnavalesque mini-hike of 2.5km to Mesch village 14:11-18:33: Carnival parade in Mesch village (message us for location). Afterparty at Eetcafé 't Piepke (Kerkplein 22, Eijsden). Return walk and transport from Eijsden to Maastricht (train at 17:32, bus at 18:00, or train at 18:32). 19:33-20:44: Group dinner in Lezzet Grill @ Mariastraat 9 20:44-21:22: Meet at Café 't Pötterke @ Mariastraat 1 21:22 till late: Carnival pub and party crawl in the old city, message us for location Sunday 15 February (Big carnival opening, parade and parties in Maastricht) 11:33-12:33: Meet at Vrijthof Square. Ceremony: pulling up the Mooswief and anthem with the carnival prince of Mestreech! 12:44-13:55: Sunday Crazy Couch Carnaval City Hike from Vrijthof square 13:55-14:11: Meet in front of Café 't Pötterke @ Mariastraat 1 14:11-17:11: Watching Maastricht’s Carnival Parade (and later possibly joining it!) 17:11-22:11: Carnival pub and party crawl in the city, dinner etc, message us for location 22:11 till late: Continuing the party around town, message us for location Monday 16 February (Carnival parade in Aachen, Germany - evening back in Maastricht) 11:33: Meet outside Maastricht CS train station 11:52 bus 350 to Aachen - Please bring ID just in case, due to the DE border crossing! 13:11-17:33 Enjoying the main Carnaval Parade of Aachen (Rosenmontagzug), we will stay at (or near) the corner of Friedrich-Wilhelm-Platz and Ursulinerstraße, message us for exact location.
