This event is part of the BarnaCrash 2025 ! https://www.couchsurfing.com/events/barnacrash-2025 Let's do some "exercise" after our traditional St. Joan breakfast in the city center and walk up to the church and amusement parc of Tibidabo. The view is breathtaking! Tibidabo is a hill overlooking Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. At 512 metres (1,680 ft), it is the tallest hill in the Serra de Collserola. Rising sharply to the north-west, it has views over the city and the surrounding coastline. The summit of the hill is occupied by the Sagrat Cor church and adjacent Tibidabo Amusement Park. The Torre de Collserola telecommunications tower is a short walk away. All three are prominently visible from most of the city of Barcelona. Designed by Enric Sagnier, the church was started in 1902 and took 60 years to complete. It is topped by a sculpture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus by Josep Miret Llopart. Tibidabo can be reached by hiking or via the Tibidabo Funicular, which was the first of its kind in Spain. TIME SCHEDULE 12:30 Meeting at Arc deTriomf: https://maps.app.goo.gl/7wW1gRupTcoqGF9BA We take the bus No. V17 together to the Jardins de la Tamarita, a small parc. OR You take the metro, funicular and bus directly to the top of Tibidabo and we meet at the church 15:30 h We will have some time to enjoy the view, visit the church, go up to the top of the tower, do a ride in the historic amusement parc or have a coffee, picnic etc. There is also a restaurant and café. The hike is about 1 hour and 40 min. and I highly recommend to do it together !!! It's not difficult, no worries! 16:30 We take a bus or funicular and metro down to the Placa Catalunya. Afterwards you can have a shower, relax and prepare for our Welcome event in the evening. WHAT TO BRING - lots of water - food for lunch (I am not sure if the restaurant is open) - sunscream - comfortable shoes - funny stories and a big smile :-)
