The view is breathtaking! Tibidabo is a hill overlooking Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain. At 512 metres (1,680 ft), it is the tallest hill in the Serra de Collserola. Rising sharply to the north-west, it has views over the city and the surrounding coastline. The summit of the hill is occupied by the Sagrat Cor church and adjacent Tibidabo Amusement Park. The Torre de Collserola telecommunications tower is a short walk away. All three are prominently visible from most of the city of Barcelona. Designed by Enric Sagnier, the church was started in 1902 and took 60 years to complete. It is topped by a sculpture of the Sacred Heart of Jesus by Josep Miret Llopart. We can reach Tibidabo by hiking or via the Tibidabo Funicular, which was the first of its kind in Spain. TIME SCHEDULE 15:30 Meeting at Placa Catalunya: We take the bus No. V17 or V15 together to the Jardins de la Tamarita, a small parc. From there we walk uphill. We will have some time to enjoy the view, visit the church, go up to the top of the tower, do a ride in the historic amusement parc or have a coffee, picnic etc. There is also a restaurant and café. The hike is about 1 hour and 40 min. and I highly recommend to do it together !!! It's not difficult, no worries! You can also come directly to the top and meet us there for sunset .. 20:00 We take a bus or funicular and metro down to the Placa Catalunya. WHAT TO BRING - lots of water - snacks (the restaurant is maybe also open) - comfortable shoes - funny stories and a big smile :-)
