This immersive 5-day event combines the thrill of a Maasai Mara safari with cultural experiences in Kisumu, all while raising funds for the education of 22 bright, vulnerable girls. Couchsurfing Participants will experience the best of Kenyan wildlife, culture, and hospitality, leaving with unforgettable memories and the satisfaction of contributing to a worthy cause. DAY 1: Kisumu Arrival & Cultural Immersion: Morning: Arrival in Kisumu. Welcome and orientation at a local community center. Introduction to RHD and the scholarship program. Afternoon: Guided tour of Kisumu, including the Impala Game Park and the Dunga beaches. Evening: Traditional Luo cultural performance, dinner with local cuisine, and storytelling session. DAY 2: Kisumu Cultural Experience: Morning: Travel to Kisumu rural villages. Visit a local village, participate in a cultural workshop (e.g., beadwork, traditional dance), and interact with the community. Afternoon: Visit a local school supported by RHD, meet the scholarship recipients, and learn about their aspirations. Evening: Evening Rest, Enjoying Kisumu nightlife. DAY 3 & 4: Maasai Mara Wildlife Safari: Morning Day 3: Early departure from Kisumu for Maasai Mara National Park (approx. 6-hour drive). The journey will include scenic views of the Kenyan countryside. Afternoon Day 3: Check-in to a lodge or camp near the Maasai Mara. Afternoon game drive in the park, offering opportunities to spot the "Big Five" and other wildlife. Evening Day 3: Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge/camp. A presentation on the importance of wildlife conservation. Morning Day 4: Early morning drive to the Maasai Mara National Park. Mid-Day, Day 4: Journey Back to Kisumu Evening: Arrival in Kisumu from Maasai Mara National Park. Having dinner and resting. DAY 5: Cultural Exchange, Fundraising, and Farewell: Morning: Visit a local market to purchase souvenirs. Afternoon: Fundraising event. This could include a silent auction of local crafts, individual contributions, pledges, group donations, a raffle, or a presentation about the scholarship program. Evening: Traditional dinner and cultural exchange/ performance. DAY 6: Departures Morning: Departure from Kisumu International Airport (KIS) or onward travel.
