About

EVENT IN A NUTSHELL: Come around to meet a varied mix of locals, travelers and expats for a nice chat and a drink! VENUE: Dante. It's a new place only open for about 2 weeks. It is run by and independent theatre group and as such it is a multicultural hub, functioning as an active theater hot spot, bar / café, also art gallery and community space. GPS: https://maps.app.goo.gl/uKizRbM5e8NuZQKu9?g_st=ic After entering, turn to the left and check out the private reading room. That's where the CS group most likely will be. Or at the big table at the bar. ⛅🌓 🌘 ☁️ EVENT DURATION: 19:00 - 22:30 / 7PM to past 10.30PM! (if the group is vigorous, we can stay longer) 🌶️🛞🏃DIRECTIONS: /1.from Pest/ Take the 4-6 tram as you would normally do to get to the Margit-sziget (Margaret island) and hop off at the first stop after the bridge on the Buda side. Walk 1 minute to Török utca 1. and enter the venue. /2.from Buda/ Use the same 4-6 tram from Széll Kálmán tér and enjoy the ride for about 3 stops and get off at the Margit-híd (Margaret Bridge). Do not cross the bridge or get lost. Thank you. BONUS: The venue is close to the Castle district, near the Danube river in the city center. Nearby you will find one of the most popular thermal baths among locals, the Lukács bath. There is a funky art cinema around the corner called Bem Mozi and a youth culture center across the street. It's a non-touristy neighborhood definitely worth checking out! *** Dear fellow CSers, Welcome to the Regular Tuesday meeting of Budapest. This events has become a great tradition, and has now been running for 15+ years! It is a non-profit event preserving classic Couchsurfer aspects. Presentations, nice tips and local history lessons regarding Budapest if need be! You questions will be answered by the event host / organizer + regular attendees inhabiting this beautiful city! Please, find them / us if you need information and feel like learning more about the background history of town via fun facts! THE CS TUESDAY AND IT'S HISTORY: The original founder back in the late 2000s was András Földvári - one of the most experienced Hungarian travellers, collecting visits to airports and landing on more than 900+ spots by now -. You can learn about him and his vision from this video: Andras Foldvari - A Wanderer Devoted to Exploring New Worlds (check online) We have press feedback thanks to Caroline Bergwinkl, but the old link was archived in summer 2021: https://www.budapester.hu/2018/04/03/menschen-aus-aller-welt-kennenlernen This is the new link: https://www.archiv.budapester.hu/2018/04/03/menschen-aus-aller-welt-kennenlernen As said this event is obviously for free!
