The Sumida River is a historic waterway with thousands of years of tradition, offering breathtaking views and a unique atmosphere. Join us for a leisurely stroll along its picturesque banks, where you can enjoy the delightful weekend ambiance while immersing yourself in the grandeur of Japan’s history. Experience the dynamic urban landscapes and a refreshing environment along the way. Meeting Point and Time 
We will meet at 2:00 PM sharp, near the shrine within the park.

As we stroll along the riverside, we will determine natural stopping points for breaks or to conclude the event, depending on everyone’s preferences. Should the group wish, we may also enjoy a meal together afterward. The walking pace will be adjusted to suit participants’ energy levels and preferences. While children and cyclists are welcome, the pace will primarily cater to those walking, so please keep this in mind. Important Notes For Latecomers 
During the event, the Couchsurfing app will not be checked frequently, and Couchsurfing’s terms prohibit using external messaging apps such as WhatsApp for coordination. Therefore, if you arrive late, joining the group may prove difficult, and we cannot take responsibility for ensuring you can find us. Please aim to arrive on time to avoid any inconvenience. 
In Case of Rain or Event Cancellation 
The event will be canceled in the case of rain. If this happens, the event page will be deleted to notify participants. While we plan to make decisions by the day before, adjustments may be made flexibly depending on the weather or the organizer’s circumstances. If the event page is deleted, please consider it canceled. 
Please also be aware that even in fair weather, the event may be postponed or canceled unexpectedly due to unforeseen circumstances. 
Attire and Preparation 
Comfortable walking shoes and warm clothing are highly recommended. There are convenience stores nearby where you can purchase any necessities during the walk. 
Additional Information 
The Sumida River has been a cultural lifeline since the Edo period, spanning 27 kilometers to Tokyo Bay (rest assured, we will not walk the entire length!). Depending on the group’s mood and condition, the event may last as little as 30 minutes. Feel free to leave the group at any time.
