About Me
Hello, I’m Mirye. I live and work in the countryside with animals.
This is something I try to live by:
“Anyone can carry his burden, however heavy, until nightfall. Anyone can do his work, however hard, for one day. Anyone can live sweetly, patiently, lovingly, purely, until the sun goes down. And this is all that life really means.”
At the same time, for personal reasons, I don’t want to build deep relationships with people, so I live a quiet life here in the countryside.
I don’t use Instagram or WhatsApp, so it’s hard for me to stay in touch. But if you write me a thoughtful letter, I will write back with care.
During one of the hardest times in my life, I met a bicycle traveler sleeping in a tent in a park. That moment changed the direction of my life, and it led me to start Couchsurfing.
That experience made me think that instead of sleeping outside, travelers like him could rest somewhere warm and safe. That’s why I began hosting.
My home is not in Busan. It is in Yangsan, between Busan and Samrangjin. I live near a beautiful park called Gayajin, on the Nakdong River bike path, so it’s a perfect place for bicycle travelers.
Female guests are always welcome.
For male guests, I only accept bicycle travelers or hitchhikers who usually sleep in tents. If you are not one of them, I may not reply. I’m sorry in advance.
I have two cats and three dogs. You will sleep in a cozy bed in a room with the cats, and I will sleep in the living room with the dogs. I will welcome you like a friend or family, so please feel comfortable.
One of my dogs is afraid of foreign men, so she may be nervous or defensive. I hope you understand and don’t feel hurt.
I don’t go out much because I rarely leave my village. You can think of this place as a quiet stop to rest during your journey.
I live alone, take care of animals, and run my work, so I’m very busy. It would be great if you contact me early, so I can prepare and clean before you arrive. (To be honest, it’s not perfectly clean.)
Lastly, I don’t like long stays because saying goodbye becomes too hard for me. The maximum stay is 3 days.
I feel excited to meet new people.
See you soon :)
