Hi! I'm Aaron. I'm a mechanical engineer focused on making the world a better place with technology. I like problem solving and banging my head against the world's unsolved problems. For a bizarre insight into my head, feel free to check out akrupp.wix.com/portfolio for some art and engineering. I've been working at Caminos de Agua (www.caminosdeagua.org) for the past few years developing low cost water solutions in central Mexico. For a local non-profit doing amazing work, check em out! But now I'm changing gears to study water governance, policy, and planning at the University of Arizona, so if you find yourself in Tucson, give a holler :) I am also an avid rock climber, ultimate (frisbee) player, hiker, skier, magician, potter, and cook. Feel free to shoot me an email or message with any questions!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I've had excellent luck on CS finding places to crash when in need and have met a couple of great friends in the process. When I have the space and opportunity, I'd like to open up my home to CSers too!
Music, Movies, and Books
Two books I really like: - All the Birds in the Sky by Charlie Jane Anders - Slow River by Nicola Griffith Right now am listening to: Ana Tijoux
What I Can Share With Hosts
Am happy to: Share stories, perform card magic, fix appliances, and cook. But I try to open as a guest, if you'd like something, please ask!
My Interests
Technical: Appropriate technology, wheelchairs, water purification, climate change, renewable energy. Hobbies: ultimate (frisbee), rock climbing, hiking, skiing, snowboarding, magic tricks, ceramics, cooking with friends, learning new languages (or even just tidbits). Philosophizing: To what ends and means can you dedicate your life that will bring you lasting contentment? Is poverty a necessary byproduct of wealth? What constraints would need to be in place to make a Basic Human Income an effective equalizer? Among others =)
