Hi I'm dickie,

I have Just finished university in Liverpool where I studied outdoor education and environmental science. I'm a lover of the outdoors and participate in many outdoor pursuits such as climbing, kayaking, snowboarding, caving, and have participated in many others. I -Lao work as an ourdoor instructor at an adventure centre.

My hobbies include art and lighting. The ways in which I participate is doing painting on canvases, decor for psychedelic party's, the occasional bit of street art( for political and enjoyment purposes), I also help run an underground gallery/ practice room/ recording studio/ music venue in which I display art and do lighting for various gigs. In my free time I usually go on walks, sit in parks and drink cider.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I originally created a couch surfing account as I was living in a 8 bedroom house on my own so I opened it up to couch surfers wishing to stay in Liverpool. Over the space of 2 years I've probably hosted 40 people , my time in Germany now is the first time I've ever used it to stay with someone else.

It interests me as I think as individuals we need to help each other where ever we can with the growing prices of living costs. Having spoke to many people and seen it first hand in my own country the way in which we can greatly make life easier for ourselves is to help people within our own communities by sharing ideas and stories.

Everyone is my friend until proven differently.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Living in New Zealand really pushed me as a person to strive to survive. I completely ran out of money on many occasions and had to carry on being positive and look for work where ever I could and by what ever means possible. Moments where hard as sometimes you are not sure when you are going to get money to eat and travel. Especially when in a time where travelling should be fun and exciting and you are in a position of uncertainty. Even though it was hard at the time on hindsight it made me realise that you can overcome any pressures if you open and push yourself to achieve.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share stories and ideas. And I will also happily share whatever I have at the time. I believe in karma I guess "what goes around, comes around".
