CURRENT MISSION Visit places I never would have thought I'd go, and do something ridiculous and awesome in each one. ABOUT ME Started the whole traveling thing a little "late" in life so I am catching up on lost time! I am trying to do at least one major trip overseas every year. For now I am hitting a few countries for a few days each, and then maybe I'll come back for a longer stay at my favorite spots. At home I'm a business consultant but I'm anything but a 'stiff' ... there is humor in most things in life. I enjoy the company of like-minded, laid back people. I'm low-maintenance and as a former military guy I can adapt to pretty much any conditions/situation. I love the hostel community and am excited to take this next step and get involved with couchsurfing. I always host parties and provide accommodations for visiting friends, so why not take the next step and make new friends!? PHILOSOPHY Get outside your comfort zone! If you didn't do something that made you a little nervous, and don't come home totally exhausted, you didn't get the most out of your trip :)

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING I live in the Washington DC area and would definitely be willing to show people around. COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE I've hosted friends that I've met in other countries, and been hosted in turn. It's a great community of nomads.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Too many to list ... I've spent the last year in east Africa which was pretty interesting to say the least!
My Interests
I like to do cultural things during the day, and then check out the night life. I love to try the local food and cocktails, even if it's a little expensive it's worth having a neat experience.
