CURRENT MISSION To wander regularly. ABOUT ME I am a 37 year old wife, mother, photographer and chronic traveler. Our home is in Brookings, SD where my husband works at the local University and I operate my own photography/marketing business and co-publish a local food magazine. Our children are in 12th and 6th grade. And our pets include Guinness our 5 year old great dane, Scout and Ranger our rabbits and Marty and Martha our turtles. In Oct. of 2013 I completed my goal of visiting all 50 US States. I think my next goal will be all 7 continents. My bucket list is getting a lot smaller and I need some suggestions to add so that I can continue my adventures. My favorite places to visit include water. Martha's Vineyard, MA is my #1 destination location. The north shore of Lake Superior in MN is also beautiful. And Northern California where I grew up is always a pleasure to revisit. If water isn't included I enjoy clear creeks and cool mountain air. Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Washington, Oregon, SD Black Hills and Northern California can all deliver these. When traveling I prefer to fly to a destination and stay put. Really getting to know the area, people and attractions. Low-key hole in the wall places to eat with personality and tradition are the best. I also enjoy a good road trip and try for one 7-14 day trip every other year. In 2013 we purchased a 1979 Airstream and hope to use her (Evelyn) more in the future. Arts, architecture and fashion are included in some of my favorite attractions. But I do love American history as well. Specifically military related because I have a lot of respect for our military members after serving 8 years myself in the Army Reserves and my husband retiring with 20 years.
