About Me

I’m Tinus, an introvert who genuinely enjoys meeting new people and exchanging perspectives. I naturally connect better in smaller settings than big crowds. I enjoy long walks and meaningful conversations. Every time I truly enjoy a moment or a certain vibe, I capture it through photos and videos so I can revisit it later when I miss it. I’m the type of person who prefers a quiet night walk over a loud party.

Traveling has taught me how small I am compared to the world we live in. There are countless backgrounds, cultures, beliefs, and ways of thinking, and each journey helps me see beyond my own point of view.
When I visit a new country, I try to experience it the way locals do: street food, local markets, public transport, parks, cultural festivals, places of worship, and everyday spaces that reflect real life. All of these experiences become even more meaningful when shared with local friends.

At the moment, I’m not able to host due to my living situation, but I deeply respect the spirit of Couchsurfing. I travel with the mindset of someone who would gladly host if circumstances allowed, being respectful, communicative, and mindful of personal space.

For me, Couchsurfing is about mutual trust, shared perspectives, and human connection, not just accommodation. If our paths cross, I’d be happy to share stories, explore your favorite local spots, or simply enjoy a quiet walk and good conversation.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend introduced me to Couchsurfing while we were talking about our travel experiences. I created an account back then, but never really used it. Recently, I’ve been thinking about taking another solo trip abroad and experiencing what it’s like to stay in a stranger’s place again.

Sometimes I find myself browsing hosts in cities I might want to visit someday, and I’ve noticed how many people here are humble, open minded, and genuinely helpful. Over time, the idea of staying with strangers and eventually welcoming strangers into my own place has become one of my bucket lists.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One amazing thing I’ve done was traveling with someone I had just met. After a few hours of walking and talking, she asked me to guess her top three love languages.

I said Acts of Service, Quality Time, and Words of Affirmation, in that order.

I turned out to be completely right. That moment made me realize how much I value listening deeply and paying attention to people beyond small talk.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share conversations, travel stories, and a respectful presence. I’m mindful of personal space, happy to help with small things around the house, and I always try to treat my host’s home with care and gratitude.

In Spring 2026, I’m planning a trip across Southeast and East Asia, and I’d love to meet locals who are open to sharing stories, food, and everyday life experiences.
