CURRENT MISSION Settle down somewhere! ABOUT ME Born, raised and educated in Aleppo, I moved to Istanbul on 1 Oct 2012 because of the war 😔 I taught English here for a while before I moved to Gazinatep to start teaching at its university. I'm also a freelance En/Ar interpreter! In 2018, I got the Turkish citizenship. As a result, I (had to) quit my job at the university and decided to return to Istanbul. As a freelance interpreter I don't have to work everyday - I have a lot of free time to socialise with old friends and make new ones 😉 I'm still happily/unhappily single - it's actually a long, complicated story, but I'm willing to share it... I'm very honest, extremely friendly and humorous and interestingly open-minded. I've got a strong passion for travel and I always love to visit new cities and countries, but I've only been to a dozen countries or so... I love learning and teaching languages - I especially fancy learning interesting sayings, expressions and proverbs in other languages because they tell me a lot about the people who speak those languages, their culture and way of thinking, etc. I've got loads of stories to share, and I'm also a good listener! As a Syrian, I must've been through SO much in my life 😔 But I can always smile and draw a smile on your face 😉🤗 PHILOSOPHY You are what you know! No justice, no peace...

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I'm on CS because I want to make friends with people from all over the world. CS is one way to cherish the humanity inside us through learning from, and about each other.
Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kinds of music that appeal to the sensible mind. I'm more into reading articles and checking things out in encyclopaedias than reading 'books' of any sort! I used to read books more in the past than now. Is it the internet?! I'm not crazy about films, but I generally love romantic comedies. I like documentaries, scientific programmes, etc.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I was the first Syrian to visit the Waiheke Island off the coast of Auckland City, New Zealand in 2009 ;)
Teach, Learn, Share
I am always keen on learning new things and teaching what I know. Sharing is caring, you know ;)
What I Can Share With Hosts
I can tell them tons of stories about Aleppo, my hometown...
My Interests
Travel, languages, history, meaningful conversations...
