About Me

ABOUT US

As you could see, the profile is from Aida, the one writing these lines! :)
After my first backpacker trip to India of 20 days in 2018 and after 8 months world trip as solo traveler in 2019, I understood that in this life the only thing that I am going to take is what I live so I decided that I wanted to start living what I wanted to take.

3 years ago (almost 4 years) I met Toni and we decided that we were going to start a new adventure on summer 2024. On July 1st, we decided to give up our current life. We decided to quit our job, our apartment, family and friends, sell our car and buy our one-way ticket to this great adventure.

We are a super enthusiastic and easy going couple. Anyone who knows us knows that we could be the protagonists of the cartoon movie “Elemental”: water and fire. We are the yin and the yang. For this reason we believe is better to describe both separately:

Aida: I’m the kind of person who can’t stop all day long, sleeps covered up to the head but with one foot out of the blanket, hates chili powder but loves any type of sweet, loses socks in the washing machine, doesn’t like to share the dessert, delights walking barefoot, has never seen Star Wars, checks if the car is closed 10 times, detestes morning showers, always is looking for pair numbers, can’t drive with two hands on the wheel or lowers the volume of the radio to park and counts everything when she walks down the street (adds, subtracts and multiplies the numbers on the license plates of the cars)...

Toni: I’m the king of the pancakes. I like to find the order in the chaos. I’m the kind of person that needs to practice sport everyday, loves winter instead of summer, is the worst enemy of sugar and the best friend of an ounce of chocolate every night, likes the water if he touches the ground, needs a smartwatch in his life and the minimum of 10.000 daily steps, is the discreet clown at a party, likes to learn every day something and likes to talk about everything (even do sex, politics and religion). Always a morning person.

But the most important thing is what people say is we’re full of energy, spontaneous, positive, curious, fun, friendly, bold, energetic, optimistic and we have an entrepreneur mindset.

Both of us love almost everything outdoors...hiking, camping, biking, acrobatic fabrics, climbing, scuba diving, yoga...the list goes on!
I love ashtanga yoga, dancing salsa and bachata. One of my goals is dancing in each country that I visit and I’m achieving it! Almost 35 now!
Toni likes dancing too but his really passion is going to the gym and train the body! Although he is gold medal in teasing me!

CURRENT MISSION

We can say that our current mission is traveling without time or predetermined route, living the here and now, enjoying every second as if it were the last, choosing happiness as our way of life, living with freedom and without fears or prejudices, knowing ourself and discovering ourself at a deep level, becoming our best version, offering others the best of us, our talents and habilities, living new experiences, making new friends, knowing other cultures and ultimately leaving our comfort zone.

PHILOSOPHY

One day, someone showed me a glass of water that was half full. And he said, "Is it half full or half empty?" So I drank the water. No more problem.

When nothing is expected, everything is much better

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

At first, I thought that it could be perfect to meet fun and interesting people, discover other cultures, live new experiences, travel around the world, learn more languages, but above all, step out of my comfort zone.

Now, I know l found the best way to discover the world and its people. I love showing my city and seeing the world from a local's point of view while I’m creating great memories and I’m making amazing new friends. And this is why I decided to introduce Toni to CS, he couldn’t miss this adventure and the feeling of leaving a wonderful thanks note to the host before leaving his/her house. Because, yes, I’m the one of those people who loves to leave a thank you note on your refrigerator magnet and makes you smile when you read it.

For all above, I can only say: THANKS!!!! thanks to all the people I have met on this platform, because all of them had a great impact in my life and in my travel experience. And some of them I can say that they are really good friends. There is nothing better that knowing someone randomly with the same soul as you. I love destiny.

Music, Movies, and Books

MUSIC: I never remember the name of the songs but I recognize the ones that I love just listening to a couple of notes (Also, I'm very good humming jajajajaj )

MOVIES: In this case, I'm just the opposite. I remember the name but not the content.

BOOKS: it gets worse... I choose them for the cover and the title without reading the back cover. As you can imagine I've read about everything. The more curious, different, loud, striking, peculiar, eccentric is the cover more it calls my attention. If you want to get an idea of my super criteria, you can search in google: "El abuelo que saltó por la ventana y se largó", ediciones salamandra. A genuine gem ;)

But If I have to choose a song it would be Dreams of Cranberries. A movie? Inception or Memento. A book? The Shadow of the Wind. Although as you have already seen, I like listening, watching and reading almost anything.

The Aida's list goes no, would you like to create a new line with us? Because the amazing things are amazing for the people, not for the things.

Teach, Learn, Share

It is hard to describe what we can teach, because we know how to do many things but we aren't experts in any of them.
But would you like to learn to dance? would you like to learn how to train? maybe some crochet? or how to create a gantt diagram? any Spanish recipe? or how to prepare the Spanish sangria or agua de valencia? Bad words in Spanish are also welcomed to teach hahahahhaha Just ask!

We have a very curious mind, so we love discovering and learning new things. And if we can help with something we will feel super grateful.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Now we can’t host anyone! But we can offer energy, positivity, motivation, good vibes, craziness, funny stories and stupid ideas! And 1000 and 1000 of laughs!!!!

Let’s create amazing memories!

But when we are not traveling we can show you curious places in Valencia and suggest you the best places where to go, eat or have fun.

Please, some things you should keep in mind:
-NO to use it as tinder or a hotel.
-NO couch request one month before!
-NO copy past message. If you don't take time reading my profile, I will not take the time to decline your request with an explanation.
-NO to brand new verified profiles of people just trying to save money, only real travellers.
-NO a place to sleep, it's a experience to share.

NOTE!!!!!!! Please, we really appreciate if we send a request and you can't host us, you decline our request!! Thank you so muchhhhh!!!!

And that would be all! Thanks for taking the time to read all of it. If you have doubts, writte us. A coffee without sugar (remember Toni hahahahaha) is always welcomed!
