Overview
About Me
I would describe myself as curious, outdoorsie yet nerdy, sensitive yet stoic, quirky, easy going.
People often tell me they find our conversations interesting, & I think it is those who chat with me till the early hours of the morning who get a true judge of my character.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I like to travel light, I like to meet new people and I like to go on adventures. I am fascinated by people and culture.

Music, Movies, and Books
My taste in music is eclectic (from AC/DC to Enya) with an oldies lean e.g Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Tracy Chapman, Billy Bragg, REM, Regina Spektor, Passanger, U2, Bob Marley, Daff Punk, Queen, Simon & Garfunkle, Bon Jovi, Kimya Dawson
I enjoy good films that make you think & bad films you can joke about. I quite liked Ground hog day, The Graduate, Howl's moving castle, Seven, Calendar girls, PK, Snatch, Mulan, Grand Torino, the shawshank redemption (who doesn't), Up, Let the right one in, Reservoir dogs, Monthy python & the holy grail, Some Kind of Wonderful, Days of being wild, Seven psychopaths, Only lovers left alive, Requiem for a dream, The Debt, Guardians of the galaxy 1&2
I've enjoyed reading: The life of pie, Man's Search for Meaning, Siddhartha, Black Beauty, The hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, why does the caged bird sing, The little prince, On the road, King Lear, A brave new world, seven years in Tibet, Norwegian wood, Down and out in London & Paris, Uncle tom's cabin.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One new year’s I found myself dancing in a cosy Connemara hostel by the warmth of an open fire, in the flicker of a strobe light being fed Ice cream by a guy dressed as brave heart. Three summers ago I was in west bengal teaching “My favorite things” from ‘The sound of music’ to a primary school class in a remote rural village during a monsoon. Last Summer I trekked the Kerry way & a month later the Portuguese camino. This march myself and a friend spent a week dirt bag climbing in Arco (i.e. sports climbing by day, sleeping in a car/tent by night).
I am partial to lower octane activities too. I typically spend 46hr a week caring for and learning from my elderly client in their in the peaceful homes.
Teach, Learn, Share
My degree was in biomedical Sci & I'm more than a tad inquisitive & nerdy. I know a little about a lot of things, I'm still ignorant of a great deal but that usually eager to learn.
I’m studying to become a counsellor/psychotherapist. People & communication are my current dominant fascination.
I'd love to learn how to dance (I'm not sure my current moves quite qualify :P ), how to surf, how to whistle.
Outside of sharing my eclectic knowledge of philosophy, psychology, science, cooking & culture I can teach the rudiments of juggling, rock climbing, forward rolls & slack-lining.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My enthusiasm, my food, my cooking, my stories, my knowledge, my hands, my empathy, my ear.
