To experience life, To be the hugest nerd of all, To see the world, To make something of myself!
~~~~~~I'm no longer a student! But I like my description, so it stays~~~~
I'm a Tulane student. I'm a huge nerd. I read too much. I'm currently procrastinating on a giant project I've barely started that's due tomorrow and could keep me from graduating :< I'm secretly an alien robot spying on the human race. I love to travel and will most likely have wanderlust for the rest of my life. I'm an anthropology/psychology major. I'm secretly an idealist.
I know it's New Orleans, but I'm not the person to go to if you're thinking of coming here and partying the whole time. I drink maybe once a week. I'm too busy to do more than that and while I can recomend some good bars in the quarter that doesn't mean I'll necessarily be up for joining you (though I might. If I'm not busy).
I realized recently that I'e unconciously modelled my apartment after a youth hostel. It's messy, there's stuff everywhere, there are a TON of random books and random movies/tv shows on dvd and a board games randomly pop up behind couch cushions. It's a little dirty. It's definitely home.
I'm always up for a ghost tour!
The dark side will tell you they have cookies. LIES!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I just signed up!
Since signing up last month I've hosted 5 people total!
And I'm visiting the UK for my entire student break!! So I will probably use it then too!
When I went on alternative spring break in 2008 we ended up at a co-op in Memphis that was found through this website. It was one of the best experiences of my life!
I also want to add that I write a lot of references. This doesn't mean you should feel obligated to write me one! I just find references a nice way to contribute to other people's couchsurfing experiences (with the philosophy that the more positive references a person has, the more likely they are to get awesome hosts in the future). That having been said, I'm really honest in mine. So if you make me really uncomfortable (say by touching me in a way that I've repeatedly told you I do not want) then I will state it in a reference. It's cool to flirt with me or even to hit on me, but if I tell you I am not interested and you continue I will write it in my reference. CS is not a dating site. Please keep that in mind while we interact!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ok so I could write about Jordan or Egypt, but pshhht that's so obvious and cliche. Here's some cool things I did more recently:
On Friday I went to "The Dresden Dolls" concert and met Neil Gaiman! And then I got both him and Amanda Fucking Palmer to sign my book. My life is complete!
I also went to the Rally To Restore Sanity a couple weeks ago. I had to take a train 48 hours to get there and I still ended up missing the beginning, but it was worth it! Plus I got to meet up with some buddies from my old school!
Teach, Learn, Share
Both psychology and anthropology have shown me that the human race is terrible and wonderful all at once. We're all beautiful and we're all ugly and it's brilliant, because that's what being human is.
