About Me

Hi everybody,
I am a smiling, positive and open minded person. I love to travel and discover the non touristic side of the places I visit: meeting local people and spend some time with them is part of this non touristic way of traveling.
I love reading, walking, and learn something new from every experience I have. I always travel with my camera.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always travelled in a conventional way: hotel, tour guide, etc..., and it was ok, but if I look back at my trips, it is clear to me that the best moments of my previous trips were when I accidentally met someone local and shared some time with him/her. I am positive having the chance to stay in touch with local guys is the most interesting way to visit a place, and it is a huge opportunity to learn, share and confront.

So, recently a friend of mine, long experienced couchsurfer, talked to me about CS, and it immediately appeared to me perfect and in line with the idea of traveling I have. I understand now that what used to happen accindentally (perhaps when I found the courage to speak to a stranger in a pub) can actually happen on purpose, just being part of this community.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love North-American literature (especially fiction), from Ernest Hemingway to Paul Auster, from Jack Kerouac to Flannery O'Connor, to George Saunders.
Movies: I have not a favorite genre. Important thing is the film is good. So, a few names very different: Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarantino, Woody Allen, Brian De Palma, Peter Weir, Guy Ritchie, Paolo Sorrentino, Ridley Scott.
I think my music tastes are the same I had in the 90s: rock music, from classic Aerosmith, to punk rock (Rancid, Dropkick Murphys).

Teach, Learn, Share

I like cooking (I think I am good in it), and love to cook for other people. So if there were a chance, it would be a pleasure to cook for my host or, even better, cook with my host.
I can also teach something about photography, and maybe share some pictures. I always travel with my camera, and it is always a pleasure to take pictures or share a talk about photography.
I learn everything!
