Hi, guys! I was born and grew up in Kazakhstan, now I am studying and living in Russia, namely in Siberia, in a beautiful city Tomsk. So being originally Russian and born in Kazakh steps I feel that I belong to two cultures and I love the idea that I have two Motherlands. My main occupation is studying, but I also work in a school as an English teacher (hopefully, I haven't done any rude mistakes here)))). Besides working and studying I am a participant of a performance lab TriP. There are eight of us and together we explore some abstract categories, such as time, space, communication, emotions and go out in some public spaces to show what we've found.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As my friend says, the city itself is nothing without people who live there. According to my experience, getting to know new people is one of the most amazing points in any trip. Guides will only tell you some historical background and useless details. What is important - the live city, that can be learned only when, as I said, you get to know people.

Interests

I like to go to live music performances. It doesn't really matter what genre it is, watching people passionately playing their favorite music is always great. Good movies and books are not even worth mentioning. As I am studying literature, reading is not only my hobby but also a pleasant part of my profession. My other passion is street art. Well, as fine arts and I are two completely different things, let's say, I'm an always-ready-to-be fascinated onlooker:)))

Top 5 of my must-read books is not really original, but still: 1) Dostoyevsky "Crime and Punishment" 2) Dostoyevsky "The Idiot" 3) Markes "One Hundred Years of Solitude" 4) Sartre "Nausea" 5) Orwell "1984". However, the book of my life will always be "Harry Potter".

Teach, Learn, Share

I can definitely teach Russian, as I have an experience being a tandem partner. I also can teach some social dancing and Irish dancing, as well as give some basics of contact improvisation.
