Overview
About Me
We are a small family with the travel bug! We met in 2010 and since then have lived in New Zealand and Chile and have travelled around South America.
Juan is Chilean and Alicia is half French half kiwi.
On the 24th of December 2018 we welcomed to the world our beautiful son Mariano. He is our little chiwi (chilean/ kiwi). He is a chilled and curious baby whose interests include staring at patterns and mummy and slobbering all over anything he can find.
We love travelling and being in nature! We are a calm, happy and adventurous family so we thought why not give couch surfing a go.
***note: we have a small dog (border terrier) who has lots of energy and is still learning not to jump on people. He is overly friendly and has trouble containing the love (licking and jumping) when he first meets you but he is learning. If you stay with us you need some patience with him as he is still learning. He is very gentle and once he calms down he is all good. He is so gentle and loving to our baby and wouldn't hurt a fly! 😊
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
There is a Maori expression that goes "he aha te mea nui o te ao. He tangata he tangata he tangata." it means what is the most important thing in the world? It is people, it is people, it is people." what this means to New Zealanders is that the relationships you form in life is what matters and what makes an experience special.
Interests
We are a multi cultural family and speak mainly French and Spanish at home as mariano will learn English anyway since we live in New Zealand.
We (Mariano and Alicia) love dancing especially salsa vallenato and bachata. Well we think Mariano likes dancing... Hard to tell with babies!
Juan studied international gastronomy and management so we appreciate good food!
Alicia studied art and loves anything artsy!
We live close to the beach and enjoy walking in nature with our dog
