Why I'm on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is simply the best thing ever happening to me. Also, my personal travel goal is traveling like a local and distinguishing myself from tourists -- and CS has proven to be the best way to get to know people and cities they live in.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Quentin Tarantino is the king. I have also recently developed an interest in documentaries. TV shows: How I Met Your Mother, Futurama, Simpsons, South Park, Lie To Me, My Name Is Earl and many, many others. I am hooked on TV shows! Music: Rock, folk, 8bit, pop, classic, jazz, pop-punk, occasionally hip hop. Gogol Bordello, Arctic Monkeys, Bondage Fairies, Norah Jones, Katy Perry (my guilty pleasure), Zdob Si Zdub, blink182, Green Day, Freak Fandango Orchestra -- just to name a few. Books: Ray Bradbury, Jonathan Safran Foyer, Russian classics -- Chekhov, Gogol, Mayakovski, Zoschenko. Harry Potter. Somehow I fell in love with the Hunger Games.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
A hot air balloon ride over Tel Aviv; Parasailing over the Straits of Mackinac; A surprise visit for my family; Skydiving.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you bad words in Russian - this is a must do for every Russian when they meet a foreigner. On a more serious note, though, I can actually teach you some Russian; also happy to give you an insight on Russian cuisine, and we could actually cook together! Willing to learn: yoga, hiking, history of your neighborhood/city, comedy, improv, new recipes, arts and crafts, whatever else.
