About Me

Study, try to make some money and travel!

It's hard to describe myself here, cause I don't even know all about me! But... Let me give it a try!

Since an early age, I always felt very connected with all kind of different stuff, I always hated normality. When I was a kid, I used to get SO amazed by people who didn't follow what was considered normal. In elementary and high school, I was that girl who only wore black clothes, who had piercings and that spent more time reading, drinking and thinking about the world around, than anything else. I always loved watching people around me, maybe that's why I started to get sick of the normal ones.

I am an awful Brazilian, cause I don't know how to dance (not even samba) but I miserably try after some drinks, I hate wearing small bikinis, I have no religion, I don't dream about getting married and having kids - despite all the critics I have of my country (and our western society in general), I do love Brazil and I think it's one of the most exotic and interesting places to visit in the world.

I dream about becoming a teacher, provoke my students to think about how unequal our society is and at the same time, inspire them to be curious to see how the world is way more bigger than our town, and that they can go as far as they want!

One more important thing about me, I guess: I love drinking and having interesting "thinking" conversation, so I am always going to take you to a bar! :p

Carpe diem - always. Maybe that's why I can't never refuse a beer! :p

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

I am always available to show some interesting places in my city, our amazing museums and anything about culture around Belem city!

When I was a kid, I used to have an interesting hobby when I was traveling to some touristic city. I loved to walk around and keep guessing people's nationality in my mind, it was so fun! None of my friends liked it, cause no one was giving a shit about other cultures and languages. Somehow, I ended up being a weirdo kid, who couldn't wait to have the chance of meeting people and traveling all over the world.

CouchSurfing pretty much changed my life, cause even tho I have no money to travel the world now, this website connects me with awesome people from many parts of the world that are coming to my town! It's like travelling the world without leaving Belém! :D

I'm a super curious person, pretty much everything interest me. Especially people, Literature, Cinema, Philosophy, Languages, alternative life styles, body modification etc. I'm a good listener, so feel free to share all your travel experiences. This stories always amaze me!

Music, Movies & Books

Well, I'm an open-minded person about Cinema, I love documentaries and these filmmakers: Almodovar, Lars Von Trier, Gus Van Saint, Benicio del Toro, Carlos Reygadas, Iñárritu, Alfonso Cuarón, Jose Padilha, Esmir Filho, Arriaga, Michael Moore, Kieslowski, David Fincher, Woody Allen, Clint Westwood, Richard Linklater, Michael Winterbottom, Tim Burton, David Lynch, Eduardo Coutinho, Walter Carvalho, Vertov.. and many others! I love films from all over the world that makes you think, that makes you see the reality in the most real, painful and subversive way it can be. I hate movies that give you all the answers and then become just another predictable thing that you will never watch again. Some of my favorite movies so far are "Donnie Darko", "Y tu mamá también", "Detachment" "Waking Life", "Before Sunrise trilogy", Paradise Lost I, II, III and "Os famosos e os duendes da morte", "Enter the Void". In Belém, we have the oldest Cinema still working in Brazil!

I llike Post/Punk, grunge, Indie, Jazz, Dubstep, Hip-hop, Reggae, Bossa Nova, Samba, MangueBeat, Bachata. Reggaeton etc. Some of my favorite bands and singers: The Cure, Joy Division, Van Morrison, Bob Dylan, The Beatles, The Church, The Misfits, Michale Graves, Nina Hagen, New Order, Echo and The Bunnymen, R.E.M, Jack White, BURZUM, Dead Weather, White Stripes, The Mars Volta, Placebo, The Last Shadow Puppets, Arctic Monkeys, Cage the Elephant, Skrillex, Borgore, Benga. Madredeus, El cuarteto de nos, Les Anarchistes, Jorge Drexler, Orishas, J Balvin, Ana Tijoux, Makiza, Shadia Mansour, Omar Offendum, Gang do Eletro etc...

Books are everything to me! I love philosophy and anything from Nietzsche! I also like Kierkgaard, Socrates, Sartre, Voltaire, Platon, Foucault, Turgueniev, Pola Oloixarac, Bertrand Russell.. etc. Lino de Albergaria, Pilar Guembe, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Jose Saramago, Carlos Drummond de Andrade, Gil Vicente, Jose de Alencar, Machado de Assis, Alvares de Azevedo, Kafka, Goethe, Jostein Gaarden, Edgar Allan Poe, Jack Kerouac, Maquiavel, Nelson Rodrigues, Milan Kundera, Slavoj Zizek etc... Juli Zeh is and Stieg Larsson are my inspirations! I read about everything, I just dont like to read novels and romantic books in general.
