Born and raised in Italy , in 2014 I decided to study International Relations and Spanish in the UK. Already an avid traveller, I embraced all the opportunities offered by my University which allowed me to travel all over the world. I spent three summers studying in China, did my International Exchange Semester in Australia living in a multicultural hostel and backpacked through South East Asia. I then moved to Argentina for my Year Abroad working as an intern for an NGO. Before returning to Europe I backpacked for 100 days through Bolivia and Peru with my partner. Straight after my graduation I worked in a EU Project in Kazakhstan and then moved to the most amazing city in the world, London. For both personal and work-related reasons I have now moved back to Italy. Here I work as a Consultant in the area of Facilitated Finance and in my free time I love discovering the hidden gems of Rome. I also try to live sustainably as much as possible, step by step working towards a zero-waste, zero-harm and low-emissions life. Martha Medeiros

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I discovered Couchsurfing in 2011 while reading a travel book. As I couldn't host at the time, I started meeting travellers visiting my town. When I finished high school and started travelling both alone and with my partner CS has become part of my adventures. If I can't host, I will happily meet or help fellow couchsurfers.
