Some people wait for the adventure of a lifetime. I prefer to make my lifetime an adventure.
I'm a flexible and adventurous person who is full of energy! I'm very outgoing and love to socialize. I like to meet new people and talk about almost anything. My Myers-Briggs temperament is ENFP. I'm a very reliable (except for being on time), honest & forthcoming person. I'm often a night-owl that stays up to late hours of the night (or early morning) but I can get up very early/go to bed early if people need me to. I've traveled all over Europe and I've lived in Germany and Austria both for over a year (und spreche fließend Deutsch.) I love learning languages! I'm currently working on French.
As for hobbies, I am a semi-professional photographer so I love to photograph stuff. If you consider traveling a hobby, it's definitely one of mine! I am also a DJ (a real one with turntables... not just pressing play on a CD player at a high school dance), but I don't do it much anymore. I love being outdoors (camping, hiking, mountain biking, etc...) in general. I'm also a technology freak so I love computers, the internet, and technology. I play several instruments, but my main instrument is cello. Music is my LIFE!
I studied German, Political Science, and European Studies at the University of Wisconsin - Madison until May of 2009, and I recently completed a Fulbright program in Austria for two years where I taught English at two schools in Vorarlberg.
If you want to find out more about me, just get in contact with me... I'm online very often and am easy to get in contact with.
I could talk for hours about my personal philosophy, but there are two quotes that really help to illustrate my philosophy:
Money may be the husk of many things, but not the kernel. It brings you food, but not appetite; medicine, but not health; acquaintances, but not friends; servants, but not faithfulness; days of joy, but not peace or happiness.
THIS IS YOUR LIFE. DO WHAT YOU LOVE, AND DO IT OFTEN. IF YOU DON'T LIKE SOMETHING, CHANGE IT. IF YOU DON'T LIKE YOUR JOB, QUIT AND DO SOMETHING ELSE. IF YOU DON'T HAVE ENOUGH TIME, STOP WATCHING TV. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE, STOP; THEY WILL BE WAITING FOR YOU WHEN YOU START DOING THINGS YOU LOVE. STOP OVER-ANALYZING. ALL EMOTIONS ARE BEAUTIFUL. LIFE CAN BE SIMPLE. WHEN YOU EAT, APPRECIATE EVERY LAST BITE. OPEN YOUR MIND, ARMS, AND HEART TO NEW THINGS AND PEOPLE. WE ARE UNITED IN OUR DIFFERENCES. ASK THE NEXT PERSON YOU SEE WHAT THEIR PASSION IS, AND SHARE YOUR INSPIRING DREAM WITH THEM. TRAVEL OFTEN. GETTING LOST WILL HELP YOU FIND YOURSELF. SOME OPPORTUNITIES ONLY COME ONCE, SEIZE THEM. LIFE IS ABOUT THE PEOPLE YOU MEET, AND THE THINGS YOU CREATE WITH THEM SO GO OUT AND START CREATING. LIFE IS SHORT. LIVE YOUR DREAM, AND USE YOUR PASSION.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I want to help people with their travels just as so many people have helped me during my travels. I love to host people and I love showing people around as a guide. I enjoy planning couchsurfing events & parties, so let me know if you're interested in helping me put one together!
If you are new to Couchsurfing, you might want to visit this very useful page with lots of helpful information: The CS Resource Center
I really enjoy hosting couchsurfers because of the interesting people I get to meet. I love to show couchsurfers around town and share with them the wonderful community that I live in. I've hosted many different people on various occasions, and I've finally gotten the chance to do some surfing myself. I hope to do more surfing in the future!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's a tossup between seeing a tornado from the front of my house and walking through the Medina of Tétouan in Morocco.
Teach, Learn, Share
Learning is really important to me - I'm very open-minded and would like to learn pretty much anything you can teach me!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love sharing my travel experiences and other experiences with people. I love teaching people in general (which is why I was a teacher for a while!). I especially like teaching people how to speak German and English, and also how to play instruments. I also enjoy talking about politics and enlightening people about politics/government/political institutions in America and Europe (and other places). I also enjoy talking about dialects and linguistics in general. Sharing recipes is always fun too!
