ABOUT ME

I live on my own in a thatched cottage in Northern Germany.
I was a teacher of English and German at university and various schools in different countries but am now retired. I used to teach English to adults but have finished and just enjoy travelling.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to enjoy the present and not to worry about the future. But I am not always successful.

I love meeting interesting, adventurous people and will welcome them in my house if I am at home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I have only stayed with a few people and have thoroughly enjoyed it.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love ancient music, Elisabethan consort music and classical music. I don't practice the piano enough but can accompany others and love it.
I cannot imagine a life without reading. Lindihop is a new discovery.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I travelled through Africa for 18 months, from Namibia back to Switzerland. I also spent two years travelling in South America.
This year it is 1 month Oman, 1 month Kerala, 1 month Sri Lanka

Teach, Learn, Share

I would like to encourage people to keep on travelling even when they are old. Travelling is also a learning process.
