About Me
Have you ever met an American-Indonesian-Paraguayan? Well now’s your chance.
My 5 must-do activities to consider a country officially "visited":
- Take its public transit
- Shop at a local grocery store
- Workout at a local gym
- Visit a historic landmark
- Hang out with a local
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For now, I'm on here just to hang out :). I have a disproportionately larger share of taking the host role than surfing. But I'm here because I thrive in new environments and love meeting new people. It really is something to put a face (and a mind and a heart) to a country, so when you watch the news or read something in the paper about it, the country isn't just some statistic or destination-- it becomes human.
Interests
I equally enjoy grilled skewers from a street food stall as I would a tasting menu at a Michelin-starred restaurant or a vegetarian meal enjoyed with monks at a monastery. I feel comfortable sleeping on a rattan mat at a fisherman's home after needing 7 hours to hike to that village, but also know my etiquette and way around a historic 5-star hotel. Will buy clothes or accessories from a local designer or an indigenous artisan or at a shopping mall from a global chain. Frankly, as long as there is variety, I find enjoyment out of everything.
- bouldering
