Flip an omelette succesfully
I am moved easily, either by views, stories, sceneries, the list goes on. I pay attention to details, and when they are in harmony, it makes me happy and feel like I have to do something, either share it or replicate it.
I have had the privilege to be exposed to so many different cultures from a young age. By 18 I have lived in three countries and traveled to 7 countries without my family. I also come from a mix culture and both of my parents had different religions.
When you visit someone's house, you don't just look around their decorations, take pictures of it, and eat the food they provide you, then leave. The host is the highlight of the visit. Real travelers should be guests not tourists, and I hope tourism with the concept of simply "touring" will die down. There is too much conflict in our world to waste time by simply seeing things and not getting to know people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
When it comes to the experience in general, I have a disproportionately larger share of taking the host role than surfing. But I'm here because I thrive in new environments and love meeting new people. It really is something to put a face (and a mind and a heart) to a country, so when you watch the news or read something in the paper about it, the country isn't just some statistic or destination-- it becomes human.
I love music, good food, snowboarding, fashion and architecture.
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite movie is The Terminal by Steven Spielberg
Other directors: De Sica, Fellini, Tarantino, Gondry, Spike Jonze, and I actually like Sofia Coppola better than her dad.
Music: Soul, Funk, Jazz, Indie, Folk.
Neil Young, Bob Dyan, Lykke Li, Beirut, Born Ruffians
I like contemporary books, for example works by Nick Hornby (High Fidelity, How to be Good) and classics like The Great Gatsby.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Having a night out with complete strangers in Hong Kong when I got stranded because I missed my flight. They were my age and I asked them for directions on the train, they ended up inviting me to the club they were going to and then we went to eat food at hawker stalls.

Teach, Learn, Share
I speak English, Indonesian, German, some Chinese. I'll be happy to teach you! I also cook a variety of different cuisines and I'll be happy to share recipes and techniques.
I would love to improve my Portuguese, Italian and French.
I've always wanted to be a craftsman (plumber, electrician, construction worker), but instead I work for magazines that write for them. I'd like to learn a thing or two from the tradespeople if you happen to be now.
I like challenging myself physically and spend a lot of time at the gym, so exchanging exercises would also be a cool thing.
