Overview
About Me
Hi! I'm Amirreza, an Iranian tech entrepreneur and full-stack developer currently living in Iran. I travel with my amazing wife, Ghazal, who is a music teacher and singer. Together, we're passionate about discovering new cultures, meeting kind people, and sharing meaningful moments.
Earlier this year, we had the chance to attend a 10-day Vipassana meditation course in Armenia — a powerful and transformative experience that brought us closer to mindfulness and inner stillness.
I’m deeply into tech, startups, and coding, but outside of work I love traveling, reading philosophy and psychology books, gaming (Dota 2, CS2), watching movies/series, and cooking — especially Persian food!
Ghazal is passionate about music, yoga, teaching, and meditation. She also loves swimming, movies, reading books and poetry, and even enjoys physical games and activities. She’s deeply creative and brings a calm, thoughtful energy into every space we visit.
We love Couchsurfing not just for the stay — but for the real, human connections. Whether we’re sharing food, music, or stories, we genuinely enjoy spending time with open-minded, curious, and generous people. It’s the people we meet that make every place special.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Music, Movies, and Books
🎵 Music
Music is a big part of our lives — especially with Ghazal being a musician. We enjoy everything from cinematic soundtracks and calm instrumental pieces, to electronic and alternative rock.
Some favorites:
Hans Zimmer & Ludovico Einaudi (perfect for coding or deep focus)
Tristam – Violence (electronic & emotional)
Passenger – Holes
Radiohead, Coldplay (the old stuff 😉), and traditional Persian music for nostalgic nights
🎬 Movies
We’re into movies with strong stories, emotional depth, or smart horror elements. We love watching something that stays with us afterward.
Some favorites:
The Others (underrated horror with a twist)
Hereditary, The Babadook, Get Out
The Pianist, Whiplash, Arrival
Inside Out, WALL-E for something soulful and light
Iranian gems like A Separation and About Elly
📚 Books
We read a mix of non-fiction, tech/startup books, and psychology or self-growth reads. Ghazal leans more toward poetry and music theory, while I enjoy anything that challenges how we think.
Favorites:
Atomic Habits by James Clear
The Lean Startup by Eric Ries
Man’s Search for Meaning by Viktor Frankl
The Little Prince — always timeless
Persian poetry from Hafez and Sohrab Sepehri
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Building and running my own startup from scratch while traveling with my wife, Ghazal, has been one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Turning an idea into a working platform (Freeward.net), growing it over the years, and now pivoting into a new tech venture — all while staying curious, learning on the go, and exploring the world together — has taught me more than any school ever could.
It’s not just about the tech or the business — it’s the fact that we’ve kept moving forward together, supporting each other, taking risks, and chasing a life we believe in.
Teach, Learn, Share
🧑🏫 Teach:
I can teach you the basics of the English language, coding, startups, or how to build a web app using JavaScript, React, or Node.js. If you're curious about building something online — whether it’s a tech product or a side hustle — I’d love to help.
Also happy to share what I’ve learned about freelancing, remote work, or financial planning as a couple.
Ghazal can share her love of music, especially music theory, solfege, singing, and Persian music traditions. She might even sing or share a beautiful melody with you if the vibe is right 🎶
🎯 Learn:
We’re always excited to learn about local culture, history, and everyday life in new places. We love learning regional recipes, musical styles, and language phrases (especially slang and expressions you won’t find in textbooks).
🌍 Share:
We’re happy to share stories from our travels and startup journey, homemade Persian meals, music playlists, and anything else that makes for a good memory. Whether it's a deep conversation, cooking together, or walking around the city — we love creating small, meaningful moments with the people we meet.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Great conversations about tech, startups, music, life, or anything you’re passionate about
Homemade Persian dishes — I love cooking and would be happy to make something like Adas Polo, Tahdig, or Shirazi salad
Live music moments — Ghazal might play or sing for you if there’s an instrument around 🎶
Help with anything digital — whether it’s tech advice, website tips, or setting up something online
A respectful, clean, and easygoing presence — we’re quiet, considerate guests who treat your space like home
Our travel stories, cultural insights from Iran, and a few laughs along the way
We also love helping out in the kitchen or with small household tasks, and we’re always happy to bring a small gift or cook dinner as a thank-you 🙏
