About Me

Deutsch lernen.

I am a triple citizen of the USA, Israel and Romania but I haven't been to any of those countries in the last year and half.
About 50% of the people that I meet ask me if I'm Indian upon hearing my name (I'm not Indian).
I've been a vegetarian since August 1st 2008. I'd like to eventually be a vegan.
I take pride in silly accomplishments like memorizing the first 100 digits of PI and being a world-ranked minesweeper player (my record on expert is 75 seconds)
I know how to say "I love you" in 14 languages.
If I had one wish, I would wish to speak every language on earth fluently.
I generally prefer to spend my money on "doing stuff" and "seeing stuff" rather than "having stuff".
I have a collection of over 140 beer bottles from around the world.
I also speak fluent Perl but couchsurfing doesn't have that listed as a language for some reason.

I believe in government about as much as I believe in religion.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I lived in New York my roommates and I hosted almost every night. Now I'm traveling around South America and cashing in on my karma by surfing couches. I've also organized and attended many CS events. Some big ones include Saint Patrick's day in Dublin 2009 and the first Panamerican meeting in Rio in 2009-2010.

Computer nerd ever since I got my first TI-83
Skipping rocks
Bathroom graffiti
People watching
I can stare at maps for hours
Learning a new language
Cartoon physics
Lying down in the grass
Drinking a good beer - especially Belgian beers.
Traveling - Fortunately, my parents infected me with the travelbug early in my life. I was 2 months old the first time I left the country.
I bought a guitar on a whim while backpacking in Bolivia about two years ago.
If I was stranded on an island and could only bring one website (other than CS), I would choose wikipedia. I can read wikipedia articles for hours...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spent about 4 hours on the back of a pickup truck with 18 Hondurans (literally) on the way to La Moskitia. It was a little crowded (and smelly) but well worth the trip!

Got drunk with a bunch of Chilean truck drivers on Lago Argentino. That was pretty interesting (and smelly)...

Backpacked around South America for a year and then fell in love with a girl in Brazil and stayed there.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Belgium, Bolivia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Egypt, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Mexico, Netherlands, Paraguay, Peru, Poland, Romania, Tanzania, United Kingdom, Uruguay
