About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Don't be a sheep! Take the less travelled path, it's always more rewarding

ABOUT ME

We are a fun loving, generous, food loving, adventurous, open-minded, travel savy, vegetarian, try-to-be green, nature loving couple who love to meet people and learn from them. We've been lucky enough to always get great couch surfers and had wonderful experiences with a wide array of people. We love to host and share meals, as long as you can respect our working schedule and don't demand too much. During the week we both work and don't have a whole lot of time to chat, yet weekends we try and get away to hike, travel, swim, whatever. So you have to be pretty independent. That said there's always time for beer! As long as you are pretty low matainance and not expecting a tour guide. We also have a wonderful terrace which until now we've selfishly kept to ourselves :) You have to share the sun chair!

PHILOSOPHY

Seize the day, say yes to all opportunities. Difficult things always have a greater reward. Keep growing, don't stand still. Change when neccesary. Don't be a sheep. Think outside the system. Don't let others decide for you.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosting, occasional CS outing, cooking club, hiking club, etc. We've surfed a little and would like to do more, but lets face it, everyone wants to come to Barcelona. Hosting feels like our way of travelling, to some extent.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The best experiences have always been with open minded, respectful, thoughtful people who really take an interest in getting to know us. We also tend to cook together and share a meal if we have time which makes for a memorable experience. We enjoy people that have something to contribute instead of just looking for a free place to stay, even if it's just a nice bottle of wine. Living in Barcelona we get a lot of requests, so to sort through them we ask that people have read our profile (I know it's lengthy!) and include the word BADDABING in your request. This verifies you've given it some thought and not just sent out a mass email to anyone and everyone. Being surfers ourselves we know it takes a long time to find people and hosts, but we hope you want to genuinely stay with us, not just in it for the free couch. We also like when our guests have hosted and know how to travel, not simply expect people to cater to their needs. But of course, you're already like that :) enough said.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
Too hard to name one. We both like to read anything about the food system, environment, new ways of thinking. Travel and adventure books are always intriguing, novels, classics, biographies... no boundries really.

Music:

We both LOVE music. If only we could play it. We like most everything, folk, funk, indie, jazz, reggae, blues... Currently in love with the War on Drugs. We love seeing live music the few chances we get. Always have music playing, a house is a bit cold without music. Always looking for recomendations and/or concert buddies. If you bring your music to trade you'll be extra loved!

Movies:

Documentries. Anything that can teach you something. Of course there's always room for comedy and light films but we've been into documentries lately.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Jumped across the cliffs of Machu Pichu, watched the sun rise over the Mayan pyramids in Chiapas, jumped into a swimming hole deep in the earth.... everyday is an adventure!

Teach, Learn, Share

People are so interesting. Obviously each person is very different and unique.... yet each person has something to contribute and teach. We love people that want to teach and think deeper than your average table talk.
