About Me

My name is Anastasiia and I’m currently an exchange student from Moscow, Russia 🇷🇺, studying in Boulder, Colorado 🇺🇸 at CU. Back home, I study philosophy at HSE, but now I’m diving into film and American politics here in the US.

I was born in Yekaterinburg, near the Ural mountains, so I’ve always had a bit of mountain spirit in me. Besides my studies, I work with children — I teach them social sciences and help prepare for academic competitions.

I’m an active and curious person who loves deep conversations and meeting people with all kinds of views and stories. I respect personal boundaries and understand the value of private space, but I also love open and meaningful exchange

Oh, and I never travel without my camera! I shoot both digital and film, so if you’ve been meaning to update your profile pic — I’ve got you

Nice to meet you here

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I’m here because I believe the best way to experience a place is through the people who live there. Couchsurfing allows me to discover cities through local eyes, not just guidebooks. I want to meet different people, hear their stories, hang out together and see what their home means to them.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Pop, indie, dance. Some favorites are Sam Smith, Florence and the Machine, Hozier, and Noga Erez.

Movies: Greek New Wave, especially Yorgos Lanthimos (I love Dogtooth and The Lobster).

Books: I read a lot of philosophy — Plato, Aristotle, Kant, Hegel, Žižek — and also love modernist poetry. Leaves of Grass by Walt Whitman has a special place in my heart.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Bungee-jumped in Russia — in the middle of nowhere, literally on a random field!
