About Me

Hi! My name is Anastasiia, I am from the central part of Russia, the city called Perm, it's situated near the border between Europe and Asia. I studied in St.Petersburg but now I live and work in Moscow. I've lived in Potsdam, Germany for 5 months during my exchange studying there. I love travelling, learning about new cultures and languages and observing different traditions and people's life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Actually, I've been a member of the volunteer organisation called AIESEC while studying where I helped to make international exchanges for young people. I think it is a great opportunity to make a cultural exchange, to learn truth about different countries and traditions, to break a couple of stereotypes. I want people to be more world citizens and to accept other people accordingly.

Interests

I am an alpine skier myself, I participated in different local competitions back in Russia. I also like watching sports, especially winter ones, e.g. figure skating, hockey and biathlon.

I like reading books and watching films but the ones which can fully catch my attention. I like this feeling when you are trying to read every free minute you have.

Despite the fact that I did not travel a lot around the world, I like to learn about new cultures and traditions. I have not visited many countries yet but I travelled quiet a lot around Russia which is also amazing!

The last thing I want to tell is that I am a computer linguist and have worked for a year for a machine translation company before going to Germany (yes, I was that very person who makes these translators, namely I've built a Ukrainian-Russian translation model). Now I work in Moscow and create chat bots for a big IT company. I am also trying myself as a sport journalist.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
