About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To be the kind of parents that you wish you'd had.

ABOUT ME

We like chilling out, whatever that entails for people. We live in a cool place, and want to see more cool places.
We have a child, so our life is relatively quiet, but we take every opportunity to go see shows and try new restaurants, both of which Austin has an abundance of. We take long walks through neighborhoods, crowded city streets and peaceful trails by the river. In the summer we basically live at the creek and swimming holes and pools... it's really hot here. We LOVE movies, but often disagree about which one to watch. We LOVE music, but often disagree about what to listen to. We're good compromisers.
We believe life is best lived in the middle.
I cook often, and really enjoy fresh food, locally farmed ingredients, and interesting combinations.
We have jobs and a kid, so needless to say we're pretty busy, but we have lots of hobbies. Between the three of us we really enjoy yoga, reading, video games, painting, swimming, and eating.

PHILOSOPHY

"'The best thing for being sad,' replied Merlin, beginning to puff and blow, 'is to learn something. That's the only thing that never fails. You may grow old and trembling in your anatomies, you may lie awake at night listening to the disorder of your veins, you may miss your only love, you may see the world about you devastated by evil lunatics, or know your honour trampled in the sewers of baser minds. There is only one thing for it then - to learn. Learn why the world wags and what wags it. That is the only thing which the mind can never exhaust, never alienate, never be tortured by, never fear or distrust, and never dream of regretting. Learning is the only thing for you. Look what a lot of things there are to learn.'"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Life is amazing! But to narrow it down...

Hearing my daughter's first disgruntled cry.

Watching a full, golden moon rise slowly above the mountains in Montana, emitting so much light that I could practically read by it.

Hot Air Balloon Mass Ascension!

The Ocean of Light surrounding the empire state building at night.

Taken a 3 month old baby out of the country.

Swimming in the Pacific, Atlantic and the Gulf.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn to speak fluent Spanish, how to blow glass, and how to make a perfect cheese souffle.... anyone?
