I have travelled throughout the Caribbean and South America as a missionary and as a backpacker, and did it all by staying with friends, friends of friends, friends of friends of friends, and of course, couch surfing. I think this is such a valuable resource for travellers who are strapped for cash and who want to make friends along the way. I have been so lucky to have been welcomed into the homes of many strangers and now that I am in Canada for a while as a university student I want to be able to do the same for others. I miss travelling and want to live vicariously through all of you who are seeing the world.

I once travelled the entire length of the Amazon river, from Iquitos, Peru to Belem, Brazil. I took 3 different boats, and travelled a total of 15 days. All to save $100.
