About Me

I used to work as a lawyer in Germany, but in my heart I have always been an adventurer and an explorer. So I closed my law firm in 2009 and left Germany. I have since lived in Britain, in Malta, in Lithuania, in Italy and now in Romania.

Instead of going on vacation twice a year, I rather move to another country for six months. This slow way of travelling gives me the opportunity to really get to know a place, to learn about the culture, the history, the people, the political and social aspects of a country. Due to my curiosity, I regularly get accused of being a spy. In Iran, I spent one week in prison because of that.

Now I decided to embark on a never-ending journey around the world and to write about it. This is my blog:

If you are looking for me, you will most likely find me in the forest, next to the lake, reading a book and smoking a cigar. Just follow the cigar smoke!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hosting people is like a holiday coming to my house.
When I travel, I like to meet with Couchsurfers to understand their place better, to get some local advice, to go hiking together.

My next trips:
Until October 2015, I will live in Romania.
In November 2015, I am moving to Brazil. Then I will travel around Latin America for a few years.
