About Me

Kiwi guy who is now in based in Sydney.

I enjoy the simple life. Good friends, good food and good conversation with a nice view (as a bonus) are enjoyable.

I would consider myself friendly, easy going and curious about other places and cultures and people. Its so interesting to hear how other people live and think. Life would be too boring if we all thought the same.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

A friend of mind traveled overseas and mentioned about their great experiences. They even started hosting, so I thought i'd give it a go too.
I'm going to start by hosting and then later in 2017 for when I travel to Vietnam and China.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite books are historical or biographies. Its always so interesting to hear a persons background whether famous or not, educated or not, gifted or not. If I am truly touched by a story i may even shed a tear in empathy....

I listen to a wide range of music but I quite like jazz, pop, light rock, easy listening and classical, in particular the piano.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hmm...Not sure its amazing ti some but it was a touching experience. I visited and stayed at a Burmese refugee camp on the border of Thailand. To see not only the resourcefulness of the people but their positive and happy outlook for life despite their situation was a truly touching and memorable experience.

I've been diving, paragliding, climbed to the top of a 90m ski jump then sat on the take off board (during the ski season), climbed Mt Kinabalu, Walked 12km along the great wall of China, and met a real King and stayed in his Castle.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not much of a teacher but I do love to share life experiences and all the travel stories we have to share. Its really amazing to learn what other travelers have done and have planned.

I guess I can teach a few English words :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Apart from somewhere to stay I can share some local travel information about Sydney or other places and countries where I have stayed. I'm also very happy to share my cooking. Its usually edible.
