About Me
CURRENT MISSION
to keep freeing the mind, getting closer to the heart
ABOUT ME
Studying and working on several youth projects for volunteers, national, European and global, topics we cover are global education, solidarity through volunteering, anti bias education, development issues, sustainability etc. I work a lot with global volunteers and with global education in general. Trainings we do are amazing, because they encourage thinking that is out of the eurocentric box we live in Europe, and promotes learning and experiencing from different points of views. It would be too much information to go into details, but I would be happy to explain in person what exactly I do, and how much things, wonderful experiences through volunteering are there waiting for people to explore.
I've travelled quite a big part of Europe, mostly when participating in international seminars and trainings. I am also a trainer on topics of global education, prejudice, discrimination and soft skills.
I live in a small country called Slovenia, that is not the same as Slovakia, though many people think so! We are 2 million people in one beautiful green country (second most green country in Europe), we have everything, mountains, sea, plains on 20.000 square km. Its wonderful, the country I live in, nature-wise, but lets not talk about politics. Life is too short to be frustrated.
I like meeting new people, share opinions, point of views, discuss issues and try to solve them. I am a good listener, motivator and interested very much in different reflection and meditation techniques (influence of colours, medicine wheel etc.)
I love spending time with different people, embracing positivity, I always gain valuable insights into my life, when I talk to people from various different backgrounds. It fulfils me. I am very determined to try to see life through others eyes and understand it and respect it.
PHILOSOPHY
I really like one quote, which is: “The longest journey we will ever make as human beings is the journey from the mind to the heart,” said Indigenous knowledge keeper, Chief Darrell Bob of the St’at’imc Nation.
I am making this journey and unlearning on the way.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I think I have had several comebacks with couch surfing community :D I started my profile in 2007, then it was almost empty for two years, and after arrving to Toledo, Spain on Erasmus, I have activated it again, meet several new friends, surfed a couch in Portugal, but after arriving back to my home town, profile was again abandoned a bit :) I revived it in the end of the year 2011 again, since I was attending several trainings around Europe and was again a perfect tool to meet new interesting people.
And then its July 2012.. Some would call me selfish, but the reason I am updating it is because I will travel through USA next month. I sincerely believe, things will be more reciprocal between CSers and me, when I get my own flat, and will be actually able to host again.
And now its end of July 2013, I am updating my profile again, travelling to South Africa next week and hoping to meet great people through CS again.
And now its July 2014. updating my profile again!
And now its January 2015. I am updating my profile due to my scheduled travels this month to Colombia and Ecuador.
And its January 2017, on my way to another travel expedition :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I had few couch surfing experiences, one when two girls from Salamanca were staying at our place in Toledo in 2009, they were really nice, and Im hoping to get to know more folks like that:-), then an Erasmus student from Turkey surfed our couch in Toledo, I have walked around Alicante with two nice couchsurfers, and surfed a couch in Porto, Portugal and March in Lisbon, Portugal.
I have also surfed some couches through USA in August 2012 (in Charleston, Key West and Washington-all of them being very nice experiences). And also in Durban, SA. Then In Colombia two years back with an amazing host.
Interests
travelling, playing djembe and a bit of guitar, listening to the music, reading psychology/philosophy/astrology books, lately I got more interested in Eco turism, eco way of living and exploring ways and believes of indigenous people. I love my own made coffee with rice milk and a good cup of tea.

The last book that inspired which I read was the Lakota way by Joseph M. Marshall 3rd
Music; everything, maybe more old than new, 80s, 90s, reggae etc.
Movies, no favourite movie in particular, but from TV series: Big bang theory, Game of Thrones, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Vikings, Scrubs, That 70s show,...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
lived in Spain, it was a big decision for me at that time, and it was a great one.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach:
to play basic guitar, how to play some rhythms on djembe, how to find the cheapest plane flight, how to live if you are allergic to wheat, how to apply a good project and get funded. How to be a global volunteer.
Learn: to play guitar better, to cook yummy spicy food, how to surf, how to speak Spanish better, how to live a more self-reflective, connected to nature way of life and be fulfilled.
Share: my ideas, impressions, stories, laughs...
