About Me
I decided to quit my job and travel for a year. I’m now doing the first half of the journey — from Mongolia to Istanbul — passing through the “Stan” countries: Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan (I know there are also Turkmenistan and Pakistan — I’ll visit them another time), as well as the Caucasus region and Iraq, before crossing all of Turkey.
I have my tent with me, but sometimes it’s nice to sleep in a real bed (especially now that it's starting to be cold) and have the chance to chat with both locals and fellow travellers
I think one of my most important characteristics is my curiosity: I'm interested in everything! We could talk for hours, and I would still have more questions about you and your life. Of course, that doesn't mean I'm socially awkward or that I ask whatever pops into my mind, nor does it mean I don't enjoy quiet and silent moments when I'm with someone.
I love all kinds of sports, especially running and hiking. I am vegetarian, but when I travel I try to be more flexible, as I want to experience local food and culinary traditions.
I am a very easygoing person, and I’ve learned how to adapt to all kinds of situations and environments. I really appreciate being hosted because it’s the best way to connect with locals, and I consider it a wonderful gesture of generosity and kindness.
My friends say that I am very respectful, organised, and easy to talk to.
One little favour: if you host me, I'm happy to help with anything (from garden to cleaning to go to the supermarket)—just please don’t ask me to cook Italian food 😅
Ps I always write feedback, so please do the same 🙏
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I use Couchsurfing because I love traveling and meeting new people. Over the past few years, I’ve both hosted and been hosted unofficially, as I’ve always enjoyed experiencing people’s daily lives—especially when I’m on the road.
Now that I’m traveling long-term, I decided to start using Couchsurfing again to find more official and reliable hospitality. Even though I don’t have many references on this platform, I’m quite used to being a guest and I always try to be respectful of others and their needs.
To be honest, I also came back to Couchsurfing because I’m on a year-long trip and I’m traveling on a limited budget. But above all, I love the idea of exchanging stories, learning from others, and seeing the world through local eyes.
When I finish my journey and return home, I’ll be more than happy to host and give back some of the kindness and hospitality I’ve received during these months.
Interests
I’m very sporty — I’ve practiced many different sports over the years.
I’m also interested in philosophy and would love to pursue a second degree, as I feel there’s still so much I don’t know about it.
I enjoy talking about a wide range of topics: from economics to sociology, from sports to cultural and religious practices, from past travels to future dream trips
Music, Movies, and Books
I like Bruce Spreengsteen, the Queen and some Italian singers.
My favorite books are: Narciso e Boccadoro by Herman Hess, The idiot and Crime and punishment by Dostoevsky, Les miserables by Hugo.
My favorite movies are: Million dollar baby, All about my mother, Once upon a time in America, The Godfather, Blues Brothers and The Devil wears Prada.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I believe that what truly defines us are the things we do in our everyday life, much more than the exceptional things we’ve done once or a few times.
My everyday life revolves around sports, podcasts, study and research, a few but amazing friends, and a bit of cooking.
I don't know if I've done incredible things because all the people I'm meeting while travelling are doing so much more, especially those that host me: with their hard work, resilience and hospitality they are doing so much! I think that's incredible and I like using CS for this exact reason: it gives me the opportunity to meet people that do an apparently "normal life", but that to me is amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach Italian and I can easily talk English, french and Spanish.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Happy to talk about everything. Can teach Italian and share with you some of our culinary and cultural traditions. Can also teach how to establish and manage an energy community 😄
