Hello fellow 🛋️ surfers! My name is Anna. I'm originally from Hungary, but I spend a lot of time abroad and on the road (I’m pretty much always on the move) because I work remotely as a translator. Over the past three years I’ve mostly lived in Spain and on the islands of Portugal. Until June 2026, I'm gonna be staying in Seattle, so I would be very happy to meet locals and host at the same time. I’m addicted to traveling and adventures — I guess like all of you here — and I try to soak up the cultures, tastes, smells, sounds, and traditions of the world, getting to know them in their own reality as best I can. I mostly travel with my partner, Enrique. We might seem like the cliché vanlife couple, road-tripping with our lovely rusty T4 … but honestly, we’re having the time of our lives. My other big passion is dance — from folk dance to belly dance to contemporary ballet — I love it all, and I want to try as many styles as I can. I did an intense dance program before university, and since then I always try to find a way to dance wherever I go. Sort of dancing around the world, I guess. What I’m into these days: crocheting, hiking, chasing stunning waters and mountains, and sunset yoga sessions.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I’ve experienced firsthand that Couchsurfing is one of the most honest and meaningful ways to discover a country. A hotel room can’t offer the same values that a local can. Obviously, it’s not about free accommodation (though that’s a nice bonus, right?). It’s about finding sameness in our differences, and sharing thoughts, stories, and experiences. I have so many cool friends through CS! I love that "spark" when you meet someone new and you just click — when communication flows effortlessly. I hope to continue to have more of those moments through this community.
Music, Movies, and Books
🎶 I love discovering the traditional music of different cultures. I’m a folk musician myself — I play the koboz (cobza). There’s a 95% chance you haven’t heard of it! Hard to pick a favorite genre… according to Spotify I’m in a “Witchy Tulum Folktronica” phase, but really, I find beauty in all musical styles. Lately I’ve been listening a lot to Baiuca, Дeva, and anything with three-part harmony gives me goosebumps. 🎬 Sorry not sorry, I know the whole script of Mamma Mia!.. 📚 After reading way too much for uni, I’ve struggled to get back into books… but I’m excited to find my way back. Any recommendations?
One Amazing Thing I've Done
I once interviewed Kristian Nairn (HODOR from Game of Thrones). It was surreal meeting him. Every now and then I remember it happened and think, wait, whaaat? How did that happen?!
What I Can Share With Hosts
Turns out I can cook! I’d love to share some Hungarian recipes like goulash or csirkepaprikás, or even my mum’s sourdough bread recipe. I’m also happy to help with any house chores — whatever’s needed. I volunteered on a farm in the Azores a few months ago and I'm a Waldorf kid as well, so I’m not afraid of getting my hands dirty either. Other than that, I’m always up for sharing coffee, wine, beer, or tea. :)
