About Me
Hey there! 😊 I’m Annie, a solo traveler, digital nomad, and language teacher exploring South America with no fixed plans—just flowing with amazing experiences. 🌍✨
I teach Dutch online a few days a week, and the rest of my time is spent slow traveling, hiking, dancing for hours, and meeting incredible people. I love staying with locals because it makes my journey more authentic, spontaneous, and full of real connections.
Wherever I go, I try to bring respect, warmth, and a cozy, go-with-the-flow energy. I love exchanging stories, sharing laughs, and enjoying both the big and small moments in life—whether through deep conversations, music, or shared adventures.
It’s truly wonderful when hosts open up their homes. It means so much to travelers like me to be welcomed into a home far from home, creating a space of kindness and connection 🤍
If you host me, you can count on me to be respectful, independent, and happy to contribute—whether it’s cooking a meal, jamming on the ukulele, sharing travel tips, or finding a place to dance together (big salsa and bachata addict!).
I love meeting open-minded, kind, and sincere people—whether for hosting, exploring, or just hanging out. If you think we’d vibe, I’d love to meet you! 😊
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I believe travel is about people, not just places. Staying with locals makes a place come alive in a way hostels never can. I love connecting with open-minded people, learning from different cultures, and sharing good times.
Also, as a budget traveler, I prefer spending money on experiences rather than accommodations—but more than that, I love the sense of community that Couchsurfing brings!

Music, Movies, and Books
Ufff what a question, I'll do my best!
🎶 Music: anything with good energy, depending on my mood: salsa, bachata, reggae, rap, reggaeton, slow piano, folk, indie, rock ...
🎬 Movies: I don't watch many movies actually, I usually prefer to do other things, or if I do watch one, I like it, but I fall asleep :')
📚 Books: Traveling I swap books with other travelers, so I read all kinds of books! Two authors I really like: Yuval Harari and Haruki Murakami :)
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Ufff another difficult question!
I'd say, climb the Acatenango volcano in Guatemala! It was the most beautiful night of my life: dark sky, bright red lava explosions, milky way, shooting stars ...
Oh, also the Salar de Uyuni in Bolivia was unforgettable!
So many amazing things in lots of times traveling, hard to choose!
Teach, Learn, Share
🗣️ Teach: Dutch, English, Spanish, and French; ukulele basics; dance basics :)
💃 Learn: More dance styles, local culture, more languages!
🎶 Share: Music, travel stories, laughs, and good energy!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’d love to share languages (Dutch, French, Spanish, or English), introduce you to salsa and bachata (or find a great place to dance together!), cook a simple vegetarian meal, teach some ukulele basics, and share (travel) stories —all while enjoying good conversations over a nice tea 😊
