About Me

I studied International Relations, driven by a passion for understanding the complexities of global interactions. Now, as a flight attendant, I get to experience this firsthand every day. My job allows me to travel the world, meeting people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, each with their own unique stories and perspectives.

I have a genuine curiosity about the world around me, which fuels my love for discovering new cultures, languages, and traditions. Whether it's picking up a few phrases in a new language or immersing myself in local customs, I find joy in every encounter.

Food is another passion of mine; I believe it’s a universal language that connects us all. I love exploring local cuisines and experimenting with unique recipes. To me, cooking is an art form—an alchemy where I can blend flavors and techniques to create something extraordinary. I enjoy sharing these culinary adventures with others.

Through my travels and experiences, I strive to be a bridge between cultures, fostering understanding and appreciation among people. I believe that every interaction is an opportunity to learn and grow, making each journey not just a stay, but a meaningful exchange of ideas and experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Hosting guests from various countries has been a rewarding experience. Each person brings their unique perspective, and I treat them as special guests in my home. Whether we're sharing meals, exploring local sights, or simply exchanging stories, I cherish the connections we create. Through Couchsurfing, I’ve not only expanded my understanding of the world but also built lasting friendships that transcend borders. It's a beautiful reminder of our shared humanity and the richness of diverse cultures.

Interests

I have a deep passion for travel, discovering new places, cultures, and languages. I am particularly interested in languages, as they open doors to understanding ethnic diversity and the fascinating family stories that excite me.

Traditional foods are another love of mine; I especially enjoy Mediterranean, Turkish, Italian , Middle Eastern , Indian and Caucasian cuisines. Food is a way to connect with cultures, and I find joy in exploring new flavors.

Dance is a significant part of my life. I've been a dancer since childhood, focusing on Cypriot, Greek, Turkish, and Armenian styles... It’s not just a hobby; it’s a vibrant expression of culture and emotion.

I can be a party monster or a chill silent companion, adapting to the energy of those around me :))

Additionally, I have a special interest in theological and international studies, along with philosophy, science, history, art, music, herbology, mythology, literature, Ayurveda, yoga, Kabbalah, and cooking. Each of these subjects enriches my understanding of the world and adds depth to my experiences.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have a diverse taste in music, enjoying ethnic deep house, modern folk, jazz, blues, and classics from the '60s and '70s. I also appreciate the artistry of historical and science fiction films, with favorites like "What Dreams May Come," "Bab'a Aziz," and "Cloud Atlas."

My literary interests include works by Amin Maalouf, Ahmet Umit, and Khalil Gibran, as well as classic Persian poets. I admire the poetry of Fernando Pessoa, Rumi, Omar Khayyam, Hafiz Shirazi, Shams Tabrizi, Fuzuli, and Saadi Shirazi.

I'm a big fan of Van Gogh and Da Vinci, as well as painters like Jamini Roy, Picasso, and Felix Nussbaum, whose works inspire me deeply. One of my favorite history books is "Jerusalem: The Biography" by Simon Sebag Montefiore, which I’ve read twice—it's simply amazing. I also found Karen Armstrong's "A History of God" to be a slow read, but it offers fascinating perspectives on monotheistic religions.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled the Trans-Siberian Railway from Tbilisi to Irkutsk, passing through the stunning landscapes of Dagestan, an area rich in history as part of the old Silk Road. After that, I flew to South Korea and explored the cozy islands of the Philippines.

Next, I visited Bali and marveled at the majestic volcanoes of Java Island before heading to Singapore. I wrapped up my adventure in Berlin

What I Can Share with Hosts

I have lots of stories from all around the world, and I’m also a passionate chef in the kitchen. I truly enjoy spending time cooking for others; it feels like meditation to me, and I take pride in it. I know a variety of traditional recipes from Turkey, the Mediterranean, the Balkans, Iran, the Caucasus, Italy and India. While I primarily cook vegetarian dishes, I can also share non-vegetarian recipes.

So, if we meet, you can be sure there will be plenty of discussions about food! I love to cook for my guests, and if the hosts allow, I would be delighted to prepare meals for everyone.
