ABOUT ME

I'm a 32-year old half-Australian / half-Canadian guy who wants to visit every country in the world. I'm an AIESEC Alumni since 2016 🌍 If you've never heard of it, I'll explain what AIESEC is to you in person 😊 I lived in São Paulo, Brazil in 2015 while doing an internship for an NGO. It changed my life seeing how differently people can live while still being happy. Many people told me I would be kidnapped or killed if I worked in a favela. In reality, it was a very pleasant experience. My experience in Brazil inspired me to travel to all parts of the world that everyone is too afraid to go to, and to develop my own opinions of every culture. Being raised in a Western country, we are raised to believe that our way is always the right way and that we must "save the world". In reality, we need saving as much as everyone else.

I'm a pretty relaxed guest. I'm not the type of guest that needs to be out all day doing stuff. Part of travelling also involves hanging out with locals and seeing how they live while also seeing the sights.

However, these are my dealbreakers:

1. Anti-vax people stay away.
2. I'm part of the LGBTQ+ 🏳️‍🌈 If you have a problem with that, please don't host me.
3. I'm not okay with pitbulls or other dangerous dogs. Other types of dogs are fine though!
4. If you're a fan of Joe Rogan, Jordan Peterson or Andrew Tate, we probably won't get along.
5. No Zionists. I don't care if you treat me like a king. I will give you a negative reference if you support Israel. If you've hosted Israelis since October 2023 or if you are Islamophobic, please don't host me either.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Hostels and hotels are always an option. However, it gets boring after a while only meeting other Western foreigners (who are often too afraid to leave their comfort zone). Couchsurfing provides more local and memorable experiences that would be harder to experience if I'd stay in a hostel or hotel. It can also produce lifelong friendships!

I love spending time in cafés, both alone and with other people.

I love exploring different styles of music and I listen to it all the time. The only type of music I usually dislike are male rappers. Female ones are better 🤭 Music genres that I love include pop, shoegaze, bossa nova, trance, desert blues, axé, funk carioca, sertanejo, etc. Musical instruments that I love include the duduk, rubab, dutar, dombra, etc.

I love food and I will try almost anything you offer me.

I love nature, beaches and surfing. However, because I'm a ginger I need to be cautious in the sun and I can't relax as much as I'd like to 🫤 The one thing that has ever made me tan was argan oil in Morocco. Argan oil outside of Morocco doesn't make me tan!
