Overview
About Me
***2023: Sobreda. More rural, more silent, still quite close to the beach and to Lisbon.
***2022-2023: Costa da Caparica: the sea, the cliffs, the trails. Nature!
*** 2019-2021: Lisboa for good! Come join some sun and tiles together.
*** 2017-2018: Back in Chicago for a little while!
*** 2016-2017: Lisboaaaaa! All the ups & downs. and the little stairs, everywhere. come on over to enjoy these colors (ah, the colors!) with me! and the tiles, and the food, and the sea, and the sun...
*** 2012-2016: Chicago! Life is all about mafia, deep dish, the lake Michigan (beautiful, beauty!), the magnificent architecture, and the SNOW. Ah, the winter in Chicago! Come on over!
***2011-2012: Brazil: back to the land.
***2011: Brief stop in Winnipeg. Can't host. No room. Sorry! =( I take coffees, though.
CURRENT MISSION
go to every single café and pastelaria in lisbon!! and also not to fall on the streets here.
ABOUT ME
movies. definitely. i would spend my whole day talking about them. i´m also really interested in reading and music. my bike (green and old).
too moody sometimes. too big hearted at others. being here & there has taught me how to be resilient. and tolerant: cool, calm, and collected.
good hearts and heads, please!
hm.. cooking? wine?
corners.
hearing my shoes on the floor. specially after chicago and the snow.
i also do not like answering things like that. never know what to say. so come on board and discover yourself!
PHILOSOPHY
"That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run. So I ran to the end of the road. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd run to the end of town. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd just run across Greenbow County. And I figured, since I run this far, maybe I'd just run across the great state of Alabama. And that's what I did. I ran clear across Alabama. For no particular reason I just kept on going. I ran clear to the ocean. And when I got there, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well turn around, just keep on going. When I got to another ocean, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well just turn back, keep right on going."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I´ve been here for over a decade, but still trying to find ways to contribute more and more to this community. I loved all my experiences with couchsurfers so far and do believe this way of traveling can, hands down, enriches lives and journeys. CS is definitely not about not paying for me--it's about encounters, meeting people, sharing lives and presence, and discovering cities through local people, which really expands my own aliveness when exploring what other cultures, countries and beings have to offer me. And what I have to offer them.
That's why I also participate by being considerate to this community and READING people's profiles before sending them a request. I find it quite disappointing to receive a copy-paste message, or just a heart-less, connection-less one.
*** Because of this, I decided to completely ignore requests that clearly show you have NOT read my profile or have zero references. These include, i.g., mixing up my name, not checking where I actually live (not in Lisbon), just talking about you, quite brief, in passing messages, and not showing clearly the reason why you want to use CS instead of paying for a (cheap) hotel. I'll simply delete it in case you send me one of these.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love so many kinds of music--from folk, popular Brazilian music, to jazz, classical, experimental rock and contemporary pop. I used to play things too, the piano, the guitar, percussion. Now I just fake it.
I have a PhD on comparative literature and books were all over me for year long. Nowadays, I love reading something out loud with friends, novels, short stories, and substack pieces.
Any movie, any gender, any time. I love it. Also series. I have a projector at home and would love to watch a movie together as well, time allowing it.

What I Can Share with Hosts
hm... music I like. my humor. my food, specially my breakfast. I can also teach you some Portuguese (at least a few words).
I can share some of my coffee / cevada with you. I can also share sunsets by the ocean. and some wine.
Are you mad, glad, scared, or sad? I'm happy to bring some conscious feeling work to you (check possibilitymanagement.org).
If you're luck, you can also come to one of my Biodanza classes at the university. Great way of discovering yourself and doing an amazing thing together: dancing.
