Why I’m on Couchsurfing
AS A HOST:
If you're interested in staying at mine, please tell me a little bit about yourself and why you're coming to Oakland! I'm happy to just be a resting point, but it's also easier for me to invite someone into my home if I feel like I understand their values and what they're about a little bit =)
I have a spare room here in West Oakland, California! Close to the BART station, so pretty easy to get into San Francisco if needed. I'd love to share Oakland with you--it's a beautiful and complicated city with its own story to tell. Come hang out and make yourself at home.
AS A SURFER:
My favorite thing about traveling is getting to meet new people, and couchsurfing feels like such a blessing for that reason. I would rather go to a new place, and see a random street or random neighborhood through the eyes of a real human being than to go to a place and visit places off a tourist list. It would be an honor to meet you, hear a little bit about your story, and gain a relationship through your generosity.
I would love to hang out, take you to dinner, cook you dinner, work on some home projects, or just keep to myself and do my own thing if that is easiest for you. I have met such wonderful and joyful people on Couchsurfing and hope to keep that tradition alive!
