I'm Aran from Canada... mucho gusto! I've spent the last few years travelling around Europe and Central America. My goal during these travels was to improve my Spanish and also to become more resilient in the face of adversity. I'm proud to say I'm making progress in both... poco a poco 😉

Currently, I'm volunteering in Costa Rica and I will be spending summer 2024 in Iceland... that's the plan anyway. I'm looking forward to meeting you along the way 😊

I don't watch TV or enjoy fiction in general. The only entertainment I consume on a regular basis is stand up comedy. My favourite comedians include Louis CK, Anthony Jeselnik, Annie Lederman, Neal Brennan, Ali Siddiq, and Sam Morril but the list goes on and on.

One series/human that has really impacted me is Parts Unknown by Anthony Bourdain. I can recommend his book Kitchen Confidential as well as the following non-fiction works:

I've seen and done many amazing things in my life which I won't brag about here. Instead, I'll share a few unachieved goals that hopefully soon I'll be checking off of my list ✔✔✔

⏹ Be comfortable in all situations
⏹ C1 Spanish
⏹ Learn to bake
⏹ Get a motorcycle license
⏹ Hike the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu
⏹ Attend a live Abraham-Hicks event
⏹ Attend a non-bullshit Ayahuasca ceremony
⏹ Apprentice in a specialty café
⏹ Create a massive Couchsurfing house with daily communal dinners (temporary goal)
⏹ Create an affordable, unpretentious vegan restaurant, possibly donation-based, possibly on wheels (temporary goal)
