About Me
Elisabeth and I live in a house on the outskirts of Antwerp with our two pet dogs. Elisabeth works as a social worker, I split my time between city guiding and working in a communication department.
I used to be active on couchsurfing between 2012 and 2017, when I was living alone in a small apartment in the city center. I hosted quite a lot of people back then, so most of the reviews you will read will be from that time.
At the end of 2023 we decided to reactivate the profile and start hosting again.
Our favourite guests are:
- People who feel at home, so don’t ask us questions like “am I allowed to use the bathroom?” or “may I use the wifi? It’s only to check the train timetables.” Since we invited you, you are welcome to do whatever you want, which includes using the toilet and checking your socials ;)
- People who stay for a maximum of 3 nights. As much as we love having guests around, we also like some privacy and “us-time” once in a while. So 3 nights is really the maximum duration we can host you.
- People who want to explore the city. If I have the time, I’d love to show you around! If I don’t have the time, I will try to help you with a map and some tips!
- People who use the couchsurfing system the way it is designed to be used. So please, if you want to stay at our place, send a couchrequest, not just a message. If we accept your request, please click on “confirm”: that way the website adds you to our list of upcoming guests.
- People with full profiles and real names. We like to know who is coming before we click on “accept”. So we're really sorry, Batman27, but we're affraid that you’re not welcome (unless you can really fly…)
- People we can communicate with, so at least one common language please. We like to have nice and meaningful conversations with our guests, that go further than “weather today very good. Antwerp nice city.”
- People who write nice couchrequest, without creeping us out with long elaborations about eternal friendship, the meaning of life, peace, love and little ponies. Really, don’t do that. :)
Looking forward to meeting you!
