Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
"A collection of anecdotes and maxims is the greatest of treasures for the man of the world, for he knows how to intersperse conversation with the former in fit places, and to recollect the latter on proper occasions."
- Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
I think we can make this world a little bit better if we can forge more open relationships with our friends and neighbors. We have to see other people not as adversaries, but as partners who are vital to our mutual success.
We are all neighbors and travelers. We SHOULD talk and share.
And that's precisely what I offer to my community.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted many people and only used CS for a place to crash on two times so I will only talk about my experiences. Both were in Texas.
During my first experience I got to play three songs with the guitar of my CSer's during a live Open Mic session in the Laven's favorite rock-bar in San Antonio.
The second one was with Mateo and his roomies: The Navasota String Band in Austin where I got the chance to play along with them with my brand new ukulele while they were rehearsing for a show that night. Such an amazing band and friends!
Now go on and tell me which travel agency offers you THAT kind of experiences for FREE.

Music, Movies, and Books
This could be a very long list so I'll resume:
- I like documentaries and books about economics, social sciences and biographies.
- I also enjoy listening to Andrew Bird, John Mayer and Jorge Drexler.
- When alone, I tend to sing just like Eddie Vedder.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've saved two girls from drowning during my trips. One in Montreal and another one in Medellin.
Travelling, studies & experiences made that happen.
Helping someone else is a great feeling that will last forever as a very special memory.
Teach, Learn, Share
Happiness is an ephemeral thing, very subjective and sometimes hard to recognize when we have it. So prioritize your mental well-being over your financial success and you will have a blast.
Now YOU teach me something.
