ABOUT ME

Hello everyone :) I am Ahmet. I am a lecturer at a university here in İstanbul. I love travelling and meeting new people from different cultures. I teach English to undergraduates and doing my masters at the same time in Social Structure, Social Change. I am into sharing economy and believe that it serves greatly to the world in my vision and I do whatever I can to contribute to these kinds of platformas i.e Couchsurfing, Airbnb, BlaBlaCar etc. I love listening to people and they say I am a perfect listener. :) I am also a facilitator who worked in a community building gathering called "Anatolia Jam" for 4 years. Thanks to this experience, I learned a lot about how to build a community and psychology. I am very well equipped with some great tool for self-discovery which I am glady open to share. I love cooking too! If you have the ingredients, I can cook for you too with pleasure.

I'd love to meet great people to share and exchange ideas, perspectives and culture and host them back when they visit İstanbul!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Because of my need of accomodation during my Erasmus Life. This is how it started. Then, my experience of it amazed me so much that I wanted to write a thesis on Sharing Economy. Therefore, my presence on this platform means more than finding a pillow to hit my head.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I also miss the feeling of being supported by a total stranger. It kinda gives me hope and I think it is the best form of giving and receiving.
