Hi there! My name is Abbas. I am an academic from Pakistan. I have studied an MSc from the UK and am studying for a PhD at the University of Louisville (#kindofreallyexcited) I am a friendly guy (if I may say so myself) who likes to meet new people. I love candid conversations (not the hosh posh fancy social crap!). I play soccer, cricket (yes thats a sport!) and table tennis. I love travelling and exploring things and hiking and riding my bicyle on trails are some of my most favorite pasttimes. My life motto is: Good deeds make the whole world good :) Karma is a bitch!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing
I like to know about other people, make friends (or acquaintances, whatever you prefer). I feel that one can learn from any person and thats why I make it a point to meet people where ever I go. Couchsurfing offers a very informal way of meeting new people and I would like to take this oppurtunity to meet as many people as I can. It is my first time in the USA and I am simply amazed by the different kinds of people
Music, Movies, and Books
I am a big fan of of country music and R&B in general, Maroon 5, Fun, some songs of Lukas Graham, Nate Ruess Coldplay. Looovvve superhero movies, action movies and drama. Was a follower of Friends, Breaking Bad, House MD, looking for a nice show to get in to that doesn't ruin my professional engagements :( Currently I am in to reading editorials of Thomas Friedman, self help books, books helping with general knowledge and self development (Rich Dad Poor Dad, The 4 hour workweek, A brief history of everything etc). I try to read and learn from the lessons of people.
One Amazing Thing I've Done
Well thats a hard one...I will tell about the time I slid down on my feet down the Old man of Storr (its in the Isle of Skye, UK). Needless to say that it wasnt the most clever thing to do as as I found out there were small rocks on the way down on which I could have tripped and fell over. It was a lot of fun!!!
Teach, Learn, Share
The things I can teach are: Play Cricket Sindhi Urdu (bad) French About Pakistan The things I want to learn are: About the host View on different things we discuss What I can share: My culture The way we do things (Sindhis are supposed to be very hospitable)
What I Can Share With Hosts
I can talk on anything that is of interest to the host. If its related to my hobbies, that would be so cool ofcourse! But even if its related to my trips, experiences etc, I like to have conversations and would be happy to talk about things with you guys!
