A seasoned traveller, torn between the itch to settle down and the aspiration to see more of the world. In a loving long-distance relationship with Berlin. While we’re apart, I explore other cities (consensually, of course!!!!)

Currently in the process of describing myself and exploring what it means to ‘be yourself’. Especially around different people, as they bring out different sides of me. Learning to accept and cherish all of them. So far, these things feel right: communities, laughing, dancing, playing the guitar, whimsy and quirkiness, experimenting with fashion, sunsets, curls, writing, academia, books, and reading in general, and all kinds of creating. I feel like there’s a part of me that is locked, because I don’t have the means to express it yet. Creating helps a lot. In the process of transforming from ‘creative’ to ‘creator’. Excitement is my favorite emotion and, probably, the essence of my personality.

Although I enjoy learning about cultures and their differences, after all the traveling what I crave the most is genuine connection. I usually get along with people who like to ask questions, dig deep to the essence of things, feel deeply, and aren’t afraid to express their needs. It’s been a while since I’ve met people who are as curious, adventurous, and open as I am. Sometimes I get tired of explaining why I voluntarily hitchhike, sleep in parks, dumpster dive, or decide to travel somewhere randomly in the middle of the night. I appreciate sincerity, emotional maturity, silliness, humor, intellect, education, creativity, musicality, skillfulness, and hospitality in others. I love expressive people — I experience the world very visually, and seeing facial expressions, body language, and personal style is a real pleasure for my brain.

When I travel, I love using public transport. Even when I’m on a tight budget, I’ll splurge on a unlimited-rides public transport ticket. I love visiting libraries, hunting for the best sunset spot, staring at people, eating things I’ve never tried before, going to bars, journaling, reading, and talking talking talking

INFO FOR SURFERS
It seems that many mention in their profile that their home is not a hotel. Well, of course it’s not, but also I don’t want my hosts to feel like they need to entertain me. I’ve felt like this many times before myself — I was afraid to show that I’m just tired and don’t feel like ‘exchanging cultures’ right now. So, my dear surfer, come as you are, express what you feel, and ask for what you need. Having travelled a lot myself, I understand that sometimes it’s just a need for a warm shower and a safe space to be left alone for a few hours.
