About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live without fear, to leap with blind faith into the unknown.

ABOUT ME

I have spent this year and a lot of last year living in Malmö, Sweden where I have been completing my Masters in Global Politics and Societal Change at Malmö Hogskola University! Just moved back to the UK following a sudden death in my family so now a time of healing is underway. I was in an accident last year before moving to Sweden which involved fatalities and led to me undergoing a spiritual transformation of healing and heightened understanding. From this I went on to attain my Level Three Master qualification in Reiki, a form of energy healing that I am blessed to facilitate, I find complete bliss in exploring the wonderful world of vibration (i.e - THE WHOLE UNIVERSE!!) I'm here to spread the message of love to all!

I completed my Law degree at Manchester School of Law in 2013, in the UK where I lived for 5 years. Before that I was living in Cambodia, teaching blind children in Siem Reap and in Sihanoukville where I worked as a fire Twirler on the beach for four months! Since graduating, I have lived and practised law in Australia and I worked as a legal consultant for North of England Refugee Service, representing refugees and asylum seekers. I also lived in California and now I'm living in Sweden. ^_^

I live to experience all this life has to offer, I love to see new places, new cultures, but mostly my soul signs when I connect with people. I'm an adventurous person who finds enjoyment in thrill-seeking and quiet recollection alike. I enjoy captivating conversation and passionate people.

I am vegan and will always fight for animal rights as well as human rights, I intend to go into the area of post-conflict justice, the principles of truth and justice run fiercely through me and I want to build a better way for everyone to co-exist through securing true peace and justice in post-conflict settings.

After achieving this I hope to begin to build my own fully self-sustained eco home! I have begun researching plausible materials and energy options and will grow all my food... Just need to find the place that makes my soul sing. My life is a journey and I see my path, my heart burns forward, propelling me, driving me, I am helpless but to follow.

PHILOSOPHY

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.

As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.
Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass.
Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world.

Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Interests

I am an endlessly active person. ~The self is not a pool of stagnant water but a freshly flowing stream.~

I usually cycle between 6 and 10 miles a day.... what I do depends largely on where I am and what resources I have. I have spent a lot of time doing various yoga schools, gymnastics, surfing, muay thai, football, capoeria, cliff diving, skiing, snowboarding! I'm not a Master at anything, but rather I try my hand at everything!

I love to read, at the minute it's particularly philosophy, Thoreau, Plato and classic philosophers but also modern ones such as Jonathan Haidt (The Happiness Hypothesis) ... I keep up to date with international affairs and politics, from a humanist perspective. I have a deep passion for music and I love festivals with friends, preferably with sand under-foot and stars over-head!

I travel whenever and wherever possible, with eager eyes and a racing heart. I love people. I want to catalog all the different people, from all the walks of life that I have encountered, but I keep running out of pages.

There are two basic motivating forces in this life: fear and love. When we are afraid, we pull back from life. When we are in love, we open to all that life has to offer with passion, excitement, and acceptance. We need to learn to love ourselves first, in all our glory and our imperfections. If we cannot love ourselves, we cannot fully open to our ability to love others or our potential to create. Evolution, and all hopes for a better world, rest in the fearlessness and open-hearted vision of people who embrace life.

Above all else, I love.

Music, Movies, and Books

Underground, downtempo, Old school hip-hop/rap - A Tribe Called Quest; Wu Tang; Blu; Biggie etc
Modern hip-hop/rap (non commerical crap) - Four Owls; Foreign Beggars; Akala etc
Dubstep - Skism; Rusko; Magnetic Man; Skream, Chase and Status; Funtcase; 16 Bit etc
Drum and Bass - generally all, particularly liking Infected Mushroom.
Electronic Chill Out - Bonobo/The XX esque stuff!

My favourite genre of Movie is TRUTH. As an empath, true stories of any kind fascinate me, understanding how an experience unfolded for that individual in that pocket of time! Into the Wild; Gia; Milk; Wolf of Wall Street; Riding in Cars with Boys; American Gangster; Erin Brokovitch; A Beautiful Mind; Remember the Titans; Selma; 127 Hours; Coach Carter; Apollo 13.

I love reading. A truly good book teaches me better than to read it. I must soon lay it down, and commence living on its hint. What I began by reading, I must finish by acting. (Thoreau)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

"To see a World in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand
And eternity in an hour."
